Wall of Sound & Kill ‘Em All
July 01, 2007
Wall of Sound and Kill ‘Em All are once again back at FABRICLIVE for their bi-monthly party, teaming up to showcase a tastemaker line-up of DJs and the best new live acts around.
Wall of Sound assume their usual spot in Room One, headlining the night with an eagerly anticipated performance by the brilliant Von Sudenfed, a trio composed of Mark E Smith of The Fall and Mouse on Mars’ Andi Toma and Jan St Werner. This is a coming together of titans, bringing about a futuristic sound system of electro, dubstep and disco, combined with the unmatched grace of Mark E Smith’s visionary lyrics. Also lighting up the room, in one of his first UK performances, is DatA, currently the darling of French Touch due to his disco-electro-infused LP ‘Aerius Light.’ DatA will be rocking Room One’s dance floor for the very first time and his melodic disco barrage is surely not to be missed. And last but not least, Room One also heralds the long awaited return of The Glimmers, champions of the mighty FABRICLIVE 31 compilation, in their first FABRICLIVE performance of 2007.
Meanwhile, those Filthy Dukes have knocked up a versatile and downright lethal lineup for Room Two’s Kill ‘Em All onslaught. Yuksek is an integral part of the new sound emerging from electronic music in France, continuing to make all the blog-frenzied heads nod. With a more melodic and textured sound than the current crunchy electro favoured by many of his contemporaries, Yuksek introduced his new EP ‘Composer’ to wild acclaim, as well as creating electrifying remixes for Shitdisco, Teenage Bad Girls and Zombie Nation. But dirty electronic music doesn’t just come from France these days, oh no - it’s worldwide, as Guns N Bombs proudly exhibit, hailing from LA and currently ripping up dancefloors internationally. Guns N Bombs are signed to Kitsune, shaking the scene with their highly innovative productions, as well as remixes for the likes of Klaxons and Canada’s Chromeo.
And speaking of Canada, You Say Party! We Say Die! are the Vancouver 5 piece causing quite a stir in the underground, with their boisterous live show and toe tappingly catchy riffs. You Say Party! We Say Die!’s show builds up with rhythmic synths and melodies, and then explodes into all out dance punk madness! With their new album ‘Lose All Time’ dropping in the UK in June this year, We say come to the party! You say yes!
