Underwater - The End

For March’s Underwater session at The End, Darren Emerson is joined by Wagon Repair’s Konrad Black and Underwater label-mates Deepgroove in the main room, the Loose Cannons and Arveene party in the lounge and Phonica Radio Sound-System hosts the AKA with Ryan Shaw, Dan Foat and Reverso 68.

Konrad Black, behind label Wagon Repair alongside Mathew Johnson, Graham Boothby and Jesse Fisk (the label also releasing from artists Cobblestone Jazz, Mike Shannon and Lazy Fat People etc), is a DJ and producer receiving props from many of the big names around - Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Loco Dice, Sven Vath, Tiga and many more. His releases “Medusa Smile” and “Draconia”, on Wagon Repair, and recent remixes for Will Saul & Tom Cooper on Simple Records, Heartthrob’s “Baby Kate” on M-nus and Audion’s “Mouth to Mouth” on Spectral Sound are only a few reasons for this.

Underwater’s Deepgroove recently mixed the first in the new Underwater compilation series “Solo”, which includes tracks from Loco Dice, John Dahlback, Black Strobe, Booka Shade, and has received many ‘album of the issue’ plaudits in the press. Their new EP “Weapons for the weekend volumes 1 and 2″ , released in March on Underwater, has garnered support from the likes of Funk D’Void, James Talk, Yousef, D Ramirez, Hernan Cattaneo and many more.

The Loose Cannons - aka Kaiser Saucy and Lord Fader- are self-styled ‘pedlars of ‘dirt disco’. Signed to Fat Fox recordings and hosting a weekly radio show on London’s Kiss 100, they DJ alongside Underwater resident Arveene in the Lounge. Arveene’s style Combines booty shakin’ electro with anything from ragga, classic hip-hop, dirty house & the funkiest techno. Arveene began DJing in Ireland at 16 and has since toured with Nightmares on Wax, The Prodigy and has played alongside Erol Alkan, Switch, X-Press 2, David Holmes, Emerson - of course - and many more.

Phonica Radio Soundsystem (www.phonicarecords.co.uk ) hosts the AKA with Ryan Shaw, Dan Foat and guests Reverso 68.
