Underwater @ The End
November 19, 2006
For Underwater?s November 25th party we welcome a very special guest - legendary techno DJ and Producer from Detroit, Carl Craig, will join Emerson for the first time at The End. Pedro Winter, the man behind Ed Banger Records, and so much more, heads up the lounge for his Underwater debut also.
Carl Craig ? need we say more, his productions are untouchable, his remixes often overtake the power of the original (Theo Parrish ?Falling Up? and Delia Gonzales & Gavin Russom ?Relevee? being only two recent examples - in EVERY DJ?s box). His skills as a DJ take in the darkest, intense techno, mixed with elements of jazz and electronic music to make you move. Craig is also the man behind independent record label Planet-E, which has been going strong since 1991; hosting artists including Kevin Saunderson, Lazy Fat People, Vince Watson. Moodymann, Martin Buttrich, Recloose, Craig himself and more.
In the lounge we also welcome a special guest, Pedro Winter ? the man behind some of the biggest acts to come out of France - Daft Punk, Cassius, and, more recently, acts including Justice, SebastiAn, Uffie and DJ Mehdi - signed to his label Ed Banger Records. Pedro?s DJ style is a mix of house beats with hip-hop vibes and some classic rock bangers - all you need to get your party started? Winter joins Underwater Lounge resident Arveene ? whose style Combines booty shakin’ electro with anything from ragga, classic hip-hop, dirty house & the funkiest techno. Arveene began DJing in Ireland at 16 and has since toured with Nightmares on Wax, The Prodigy and has played alongside Erol Alkan, Switch, X-Press 2, David Holmes, Emerson ? of course ? and many more.
