Underwater at The End - May 26th

May 19, 2007

For Underwater’s May party (also a bank-holiday weekend) D.Ramirez - currently one of the UK’s hottest producers, remixers and DJs - makes a welcome return to The End alongside Darren Emerson and Disciples of Sound in the main room. The legendary Faith DJs host the Lounge with Terry Farley, Dave Jarvis, Stuart Patterson, Rauol Galloway and Underwater resident Arveene, whilst Sancho Panza are in play in the AKA.

D. Ramirez is currently one of the biggest names in dance music. Since the huge success of his remixes last year, including his collaboration with Luciana on Bodyrox’s ‘Yeah Yeah’ which saw him reach the number 2 spot in the UK singles chart, Dean hasn’t stopped. He has just mixed the new MoS ‘Sessions’ compilation and has a new track out on his own imprint Slave Recordings entitled ‘Pleasure Me’. Collaborations with Mark Knight and Luciana will also be seeing the light of day soon. Dean released ‘La Discotek’ on Underwater last November and a remix package featuring Darren Emerson, Shakedown, Cagedbaby and Emerson Todd is also due in May.

Disciples of Sound are a duo behind labels Red Recordings (which has support from Pete Tong, Steve Lawler and Carl Cox) and are set to launch a new label Mode Recordings in June whose first release, ‘Lose Control’ will feature their own production with mixes from James Talk and Dirty Rhythm Syndicate. Their releases ‘Perfect Notion’ on the Cosmonote label and ‘Dirty’ on 852 were both successes at the WMC this year and they have also recently completed a compilation CD ‘This is Modern Dance Music Vol 1′ on Eye Industries.

The Lounge is hosted by the legendary Faith who have hosted parties in London for eight years, coming to stand for quality house music creating a communal spirit that led to the UK’s only fanzine dedicated to house. Terry Farley, Dave Jarvis, Stuart Patterson and Rauol Golloway join Underwater alongside Lounge resident Arvenne.

The AKA is hosted by Sancho Panza’s Matt Brown and Jimmy K-Tel, a legacy in their own right for both the Notting Hill soundsystems and the string of incredible parties they have hosted and shared for the past 15 years.

The night will be recorded live by DJ Mag for their forthcoming Covermount series featuring Darren Emerson.
