Three of the UK’s biggest names in Urban music are to be resident at the most famous club in the world – Pacha Ibiza – for the second year running.

Last year Galaxy secured the first ever residency for UK radio at Pacha for the club’s 2005 season. This year team Galaxy will be back bigger and better.

Launching on June 19 and continuing until September 25, each Monday Galaxy DJ Roger Sanchez will be taking over the main room with his ‘Release Yourself’ parties. On the same night, Galaxy will take over The Global Room providing the best in R’n'B and Hip-Hop from network DJs Steve Sutherland, 3Style together with Pacha resident Andy B.

Steve Sutherland is the UK’s biggest Urban DJ with a triple MOBO Award win under his belt. He broadcasts across the Galaxy Network every Saturday night from 9-11pm and again on Sundays from 9pm-1am with the best breaking tunes and star guests from the international urban music world. Steve has released over eleven albums over the last six years as part of the legendary ‘Twice As Nice’ series and other albums within the urban genre. This has lead to two certified platinum and four gold albums.

He says, “Last year was just the warm up. This is the big one. I’ve been DJ’ing internationally for a while and it’s great to be associated with the best brands on the planet. Pacha, Sanchez, Galaxy and myself all on one night! With the two S’s doing our thing in both rooms- we will definitely change the face and sound in Ibiza this year – lets do this!”

3Style presents ‘Hip Hop Elementz’ with Beats by the pound, underground jawns and the essential elementz of Hip Hop across the Galaxy Network every Saturday from 1-3am. On Wednesdays from 11pm-1am he’s back across the network again fronting up the ‘Flava Zone’ with the hottest joints.

Wayne C McDonald presents The Funkbase Each Monday night from 11pm-1am, dedicated to playing the tastiest soul and R’nB flavas or, more simply, Grown & Sexy R&B Music for Grown & Sexy R&B People. A DJ for more than 15 years,he also finds time for music production, songwriting, remixing, journalism and poetry. Under various guises, he’s been involved in producing material in different styles from house to R&B for acts as diverse as Mark Morrison, Jill Scott, Foxy Brown, Lenny Kravitz, Angie Stone, Akon, B2K, Usher, Christina Milian, Beverley Knight, Will Smith, NERD, John Legend, Nelly and Whitney Houston

The Global Room at Pacha served as the main room when the club first opened in 1973, and is opened up as the mainroom on chilly winter Fridays. It boasts a booming bass driven sound system and a newly refurbished DJ booth, along with multi-level bars and podiums.

The Pacha residency will come hot on the heels of the new Pacha Radio Show on Galaxy. A first for the club, this UK exclusive with Pacha resident Sarah Main, will debut on June 16 and air weekly on Fridays from 9-11pm.

Pacha Director, Danny Whittle, says, “Last year was a great success and Galaxy in the Global Room every Monday was a great addition to Roger Sanchez in the main room. We’re glad to have them back and be championing R’n'B and Hip-Hop in Ibiza’s number one club.”

Pacha Resident, Andy B adds, “R’n'B is on the rise in Ibiza and this summer’s parties with me being joined by such high calibre DJs as Steve, 3Style and Wayne will make the Pacha Global Room the only place to be on Monday nights.”

The Galaxy residency at Pacha is a precursor to – Solar Sessions – the big Galaxy in Ibiza 2006 weekend. Galaxy will be in Ibiza from Thursday, 20 July, to Monday, July 25 making this the seventh celebrated year on the island for the UK’s biggest commercial radio youth network.

Broadcasts back to the UK and exclusive parties on the island will involve such top names as Hed Kandi, Steve Sutherland and Roger Sanchez with special guests including Satoshi Tomiie, Hector Romero, Wally Lopez, Lisa Lashes (exclusive Dirty Breaks set) and Axwell amongst others.
