TV ROCK vs Dukes of Windsor - “The Others”

November 01, 2007

V ROCK vs Dukes of Windsor “The Others”, has been getting ecstatic reactions from partygoers for some time now, and is approaching anthem status. When it was brought over to the British Isles from our cousins in Australia, where it has enjoyed massive club and commercial success, it was immediately picked up by the big guns on specialist radio. Plays from Pete Tong, Eddie Halliwell, Chris Lake (on his BBCR1 Essential Mix), Sarah Main (on Galaxy FM), and Huggy (on XFM), have built demand massively.

TV ROCK are the hottest dance act in Australia at the moment, and the combination with an uber cool indie rock outfit from Melbourne, Dukes Of Windsor, has resulted in one of the most engaging and catchy tunes of the year.

Australia’s TV ROCK are surely two of the hardest working men in show business right now. If you’ve been keeping an eye on the club scene this year you can’t have missed their steady stream of remixes – Murk “Reach For Me”, Groove Armada “Song For Mutya”, Armand Van Helden “I Want Your Soul”, Axwell “I Found You”, Josh Wink “Higher State Of Consciousness”, Meck “Feels Like Home”, The Migrants “I Thought That” etc – and now it’s time for their new massive single TV ROCK vs Dukes Of Windsor ‘The Others’ to be released in the UK on Data.

If their previous single ‘Flaunt It’ is anything to go by (it was the biggest selling single in Australia last year, topping 160,000 copies), this duo are going to be big news in the UK very soon.

Grant Smillie and Ivan Gough are by no means new to this game. Grant is a household name in Australia, as co-host of the highest rating dance show in Australia-‘Overdrive’ on the Nova network every Saturday night. Ivan has more releases (and remixes) to his name than any other Australian! Together, as TV ROCK, they took home two ARIA awards in 2006 for “Best Australian Dance Release” and “Highest Selling Single”. The TV ROCK remix portfolio reads like a who’s who of the dance community. In addition to those mentioned above, they’ve worked their magic on Sander Kleinenberg, Tom Novy, Supermode, Freemasons, Michael Grey, Fedde Le Grand, Dirty South, Paul Harris, MYNC Project, and many more.

Dukes Of Windsor provide the haunting vocals on this anthem, creating a spooky yet energetic atmosphere anywhere it’s played. The massive Original Mix, is now joined by remixes from Streetlife DJs, Kam Denny and Laidback Luke. The Streetlife DJs’ remix takes the track to the next level by cutting up the vocals and slamming the rest of the track against the wall till all that’s left are smashing drums, electro bleeps, and synths fizzing in your ears! Laidback Luke’s remix is a perfect example of his ability to make powerful electro house for any big room going! Kam Denny finishes this solid remix package with a siren filled stomper that is pounding from start to finish.
