Carl Cox and friends warm up for SW4, London?s biggest outdoor event at the much loved Brixton Academy on April 15th 2006.
Following two years of completely sold out events South West Four is all systems go for 2006 and promises to be the biggest and best yet. What began in 2004 as a party for 10,000 friends on Clapham Common quickly doubled in capacity last summer to see 20,000 dance music fans converge for an afternoon of dance music delights provided by luminaries including Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Rampling, Steve Lawler, and Carl Cox.
Carl enjoyed last summer?s event so much he immediately asked to do this year in the capacity of both DJ and host, making him the official figurehead for South West Four 2006. On the 15th Carl will be performing an exclusive 4 hour set and stage show to officially launch this summer?s event.
Joining Carl will be ?main geezer? Mr C and Tim ?Nastydirtysexmusic? Sheridan, ensuring a night of non- stop electronic-funk mayhem. Headlining the foyer is Meat Katie, alongside Air?s Ali B, Future Funk Squad (who?ll be previewing their new album ?Audio Damage? plus Platform 12 residents, Clive Morley, Lady Killer and Travis Lucas. Upstairs sees Hot & Spicy, Plush De Funk and Dirty Groove serve up the best in tough and groovy house.
And note this event is not simply another club night at the Academy. Alongside the top-notch soundtrack expect stage shows, performers and festival oddities alongside opportunities for attendees to not only be the first in line for their South West Four festival tickets but to also enter exclusive competitions, giveaways and chances to win VIP packages to this summers main event.
As part of the Metro Weekender, the South West Four festival takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend in London. On the same two days The Weekender will be doubling up in Cardiff for the first time. This year?s event also sees SW4 join forces with Get Loaded In The Park to offer clubbers in both cities joint tickets to gain entry to both events!
