South West Four Rocks in 2006
August 31, 2006
Have you recovered from the spectacular August Bank Holiday Weekend? This summer?s fantastic South West Four festivals which took place on Clapham Common in London and Coopers Field in Cardiff and with London attracting a sell out crowd for its third year running, our debut show in Cardiff ramming them in with both parties rocking to some of the biggest DJs on the planet!
With Saturday?s South West Four festival selling out the Wednesday prior to the event we knew it was going to be a great event and with the bad weather holding off for most of the day the event enjoyed its best year to date! With some of the world?s biggest DJs on the bill we were always going to be in for an afternoon of amazing music with top sets caming in from one-to-watch Desyn Masiello, The Shapeshifters and Crazy P who both performed live and the laters cover version of ?You Got The Love? smashing the main arena, with too many great sets to mention it was really down to one man, headline artist Carl Cox who closed this years event with a spectacular finale that began with a 10 piece live drum troupe hyping the as the legendary Coxy mixing his way through a superb high-energy performance complete with fireworks and almighty downpour when the heavens opened to rapturous applause from the crowd!
Sunday?s debut event in Cardiff set the tone for future events in the city. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Coopers Field and with a production to match the crowds gathered in their masses for day two of the event. Starting off as we meant to go on the excellent Paulo Mojo kicked off the main stage with some seriously dirty electro edged house followed by moir? of the same as Italian Benny Benassi certainly gave the crowd the ?Satisfaction? they needed. The No 3 DJ in the world Armin Van Buuren then proceeded to prove just why he?s one of the world?s top DJ?s and local artist Hybrid then delivered a powerful 30 minute live show and made way for the UK?s biggest DJs and any dance music lovers dream line up: Lawler, Fontaine, Oakenfold, Tong, Digweed and then the mighty Carl Cox leaving Cardiff screaming for more come closing time!
With both cities holding slamming after parties this summer?s South West Four rocked harder than ever cementing our place as one of the UK?s leading dance events!
