Schmoof unveil their kitsch meditation

Girl/boy electro-pop duo Schmoof unveil their kitsch meditation on the real issues plaguing modern relationships. In a world gone mad, when nothing (least of all men) can be taken for granted, a girl about town has only one very momentous decision to make: Is it going to be the chocolate, or the boyfriend?
After the release of their debut ?Bedroom Disco? album, Sarah and Lloyd set about regularly touring the UK with their ultra-glam live show; a high-style spectacle involving alarming amounts of leather, PVC, high heels, ZX Spectrum projections and strap-on keyboard duels. Schmoof have built-up a core London following by regularly headlining their own Warm Electro club nights, and support slots with Stereo MCs and Audio Bullys were played last year. ?Bedroom Disco? received a great deal of European press and airplay, and the band subsequently collaborated with BAFTA award-winning animator Gaelle Denis on their promo videos.
The new wave pulse of the ?Chocolate Boyfriend? single combines tongue-in-cheek lyrics with Sarah?s dreamy ice queen vocal delivery and Lloyd?s insistently hummable keyboard lines. The release will feature remixes by Starlet DJs (who recently reworked the No 1 Meck single ?Thunder In My Heart?), Menlo Park (who produced a track for a recent Guinness ad), and Fake ID (who previously mixed tracks for Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand). The video sees Sarah soaking in a bath of melted chocolate; a dream scenario for some, perhaps, but not an experience she wishes to repeat anytime soon.
So ladies (and gentleman), it?s time to throw everything else on the back burner, lock the doors, take the phone off the hook, demolish a bar of Dairy Milk, and ask yourselves: Is a chocolate boyfriend what I need?
