Robsoul Recordings Releases Label’s 2nd CD Compilation
16/11/2006Robsoul Recordings is back with another explosive CD of proper house music. Hitting the streets late October, it is the label’s second CD compilation. Robsoul’s Most Wanted vol. 2 is the long awaited and highly anticipated follow up to Robsoul’s Most Wanted vol. 1, which was distributed in countries like France, Australia, Japan, Belgium, and Italy, selling out in many markets. Like its predecessor, the compilation series features the most demanded tracks in the Robsoul catalogue as well as some upcoming releases guaranteed to be hits. The tracks are so hot the CD could be called “Robsoul’s Secret Weapons”. Mixed by Phil Weeks, what you get is more than one hour of proper house music ? tracks that are already a staple in the crate of house DJs everywhere.
True to form, Phil Weeks takes you on a journey of proper house music. Starting of jazzy, it moves quickly into jacking then hits the boundaries of trippy, hypnotizing you in a way that is only possible with the Phil Weeks sound. There are hints of more techy-house, boarder lining on dark while still being extraordinarily funky. Then the rolling bass line comes back and you’re bombarded with chucky, heavy hitting beats.
Featuring his phenomenal remix of Derrick Carter’s “Where U At” and the soon to be house classic “Walking Sideways” the CD is made up of only the best tracks on the Robsoul label. It is a collectors dream as it also features unreleased gems. Phil Weeks sets the tone by starting off with his critically acclaimed remix of Mark Farina’s “Radio” and instantly you know the ride is going to be proper filled with only the best producers house music has to offer. Included on the mix are No Assembly Firm, Chris Carrier, Hector Moralez, The Dopeheadz and of course, Phil Weeks himself. Robsoul’s Most Wanted vol.2 is an exceptional example of the high standard of proper house that is synonymous with the name Robsoul.
