Purrfect Electro Presents Funkagenda, King Roc and Chad Lewis

May 08, 2007

What with the Toolroom Knights shaking Purrfect Electro to it’s very foundations with a whopping four hour back to back DJ set at our last event, Purrfect Electro time rolls around again on 18th May with another top-drawer line up guaranteed to get the new-born electro fans of Leeds hopping and bouncing around Mission like a mosh pit on a bouncy castle. This month Purrfect has invited some of the hottest young producers around, Funkagenda, King Roc and Chad Lewis

A Birmingham native, Funkagenda has been producing some of the hottest electro house on the scene for a good few years now, quietly building up a fan-base from his releases on Toolroom, Big Love, and his own label Groovedigital. His sound bridges the gap between the brain food of electro filth and the feet fodder of the funkiest house. Imagine sliced vocals, clicky shuffling beats and dirty bass stabs being thrown into a blender switched to random and poured out into a frosted glass of funk. Sounds good? We think so. He will be joined by co owner of Groovedigital Chad Lewis, who has been rocking many a dance floor from London to Leeds and back.
We’re very proud to be bringing Groovedigital Records up for their Purrfect debut so you can look forward to hearing some of their best productions pumped out through the Funktion One sound system. As always, the trusty Purrfect residents Viktor Valasko, Andras and John Marshall will be whipping out some top-notch bangers plus we have a special treat for 2nd arena.

London’ King Roc will be hosting the 2nd arena for the night, playing his trademark ‘digital pimps and dirty girls’ sound that always goes down a storm. King Roc is undoubtedly one of the hottest young DJs and producer on the electro-techno-house scene. In fact, he’s only just getting into his stride and has several major new releases due over the coming months, for labels like Kingsize, Bugged Out!, Playtime Records and iO Music. He will be supported by Arena 2 maestro Incognito and our latest acquisition James Viera.
With all the usual treats and friendly faces, this looks set to be another blinding party from the Purrfect crowd – come get some of that wonky action!
