Omid 16B - Like 3 Ears & 1 Eye LP
December 17, 2007
SexOnWax is proud to announce the long awaited third artist album from Omid16B. It’s a time for musical renewal, rebirth, and reinvention. It’s time for new timeless sounds to abound. Almost 10 years since Omid 16B’s enduring debut album “Sounds From Another Room”, and seven years since its successor “How to Live 100 Years”, an authentic five-year long journey is realized as Omid 16B prepares to present his third artist album – “Like 3 Ears And 1 Eye” – in two parts.
For Omid, this latest incarnation embodies a new level of purity of expression, emotion, and understanding, as previously indicated when a version of the album track “Changing Change” was released (as a 4 track EP) in February 2007, and hinted at even earlier when “PSCO/ You Are Me” came out in September 2006 on SexOnWax Recordings.
“I’m not just thinking about the club dancefloor, but also about the musical experience. I love music - how it can make our emotions flow; how it can change the way we think; the way we love; the way we express ourselves.” - Omid16B
Omid16B lives for music. A true talent on the underground scene, cutting edge dance music is like oxygen for Omid Nourizadeh. A DJ, producer and label owner (Alola, Disclosure, and Sexonwax Recordings), he’s constantly spreading his passion around the globe.
“The records I make are pretty spiritual. I try and absorb my feelings.” - Omid16B
The dance scene wouldnt be what it is today without the commitment and passion of people like Omid16B. Whether its creating dance floor destroyers or rocking each and every party, Omid16B is the heart and soul of the underground.
Omid is not scared to do things differently. As part of the staggered release strategy for “Like 3 Ears and 1 Eye”, Part 1 of the album has been made available as a covermount CD on the issue of DJ Mag that hits the streets on 21st November. It will also be released in commercial 2xCD and download formats.
“Some DJs and producers have their finger on the pulse - Omid16B is the pulse. Music runs through his veins.” - Lesley Wright, Editor, DJ Mag
“I wanted to find new ways to keep myself on my toes and motivate myself. Rather than just putting the album out in the way that you’d normally put it out, I wanted to work things differently and make the process more interesting.” – Omid 16B
It was the example of Prince giving his new album “Planet Earth” away with a Sunday newspaper that inspired Omid to follow his lead.
“Prince was definitely an inspiration. When I heard he’d done it with his album, I thought, ‘Wow! That’s a really great move’. The quicker we can learn how to put our music in the right hands and keep control of it the better, so I’m trying to find a different route, a new way of doing that. It’s breaking new ground, you never know what’s gonna happen.” – Omid 16B
