Norman Cook to host massive new beach party in Brighton on New Years Day

Fatboy Slim AKA Norman Cook has today announced that he has been given the go ahead to host a party on Brighton Beach on New Years Day 2007
It’s not the the first time the DJ has played Brighton beach following a similar event back in the summer of 2002 when that event was plagued by overcrowding and ended in one woman falling to her death from some railings.
Party goers to next year’s event are to be limited to 20,000 people and only to those with a Brighton postcode (BN).
The super star DJ who lives in Brighton with his wife, Zoe Ball said today : ‘I can’t believe it is finally happening but it is. I can promise the people of Brighton this is going to be one hell of a show. ‘Every time I have been shopping in Brighton for the past four years at least, one person has come up to me and asked when I’ll be doing it again. ‘Every time I have had to say I can’t because I’ve been banned. It’s such a relief not to have to say that any more.’
Brighton and Hove City Council leader Simon Burgess added ‘We have really tried our damnedest to make this happen. The council and the police have come to this fairly cautiously without losing sight of the fact that we want it to be fun.’
