This one?s a biggy, I?ll tell you that for free? Every now and again a tune comes through our offices that has Team Cypher staring long fully into each others eyes with tears welling, swiftly followed by hug - o - clock and this was one such track.

Nimrod is the alternative, underground name given to one of mainstream dance music?s most prolific producers Micky Modelle and Ryan Rafferty, one of Irelands fastest rising DJ talents. Together they blend hard club beats with emotional strings and vocals, alongside edgy percussive grooves to form this unique project. But we?ll rewind a little?

Irish-born Micky Modelle has been a firm fixture on the club scene since becoming back room resident for legendary venue Exit 15 in the mid 90?s, quickly graduating to the main room where he began his production career whilst working as manager for three of Belfast?s top underground record stores: Streetdance, Elite and Central Records, before long his tracks were being hammered by the likes of Tony De Vit, Steve Thomas and Lisa Pin Up.

Following a period releasing records as Tuff Twins alongside Porl Young which received many accolades, Micky?s profile was raised to a different level and DJ bookings poured in as he and Porl remixed everyone from Atomic Kitten, Vengaboys, Ian Van Dahl, Martine McCutcheon and many more.

With this growing success Micky gave up the day jobs and has spent the last two years concentrating on his production work, the latest of which Dancing In The Dark with Jessy was an out of nowhere chart smash this summer.

Here the duo showcase their edgier more credible trance sound and drop this massive tearjerker of an anthem. My Life features some gigantic string-action to get you firmly on the dance floor and a monumental vocal hook lifted from Aaliyah. With remixes from Adam Sheridan on his bass-line trance tip, prog-tech darlings 16 Bit Lolita?s and minimal bods P&K we reckon this could be one of the first big smashes of 2007.
