Mr Sam - Lyteo

In the beginning of 2007 Black Hole Recordings will release the follow-up to the still successful Mr Sam artist album “Lyteo” being “Lyteo - Interpretations”.
This 2-cd package will include 20 remixes from Lyteo tracks as well as an new and unreleased track “Smeya”.

Again the album contains a variety of different styles of music, just the way Mr Sam likes it to be. The first cd kicks of with a piano version of “Insight”, which Kirsty Hawkshaw especially recorded for Mr Sam. “Insight” also gets the remix treatment on this album by German duo ATB and The Orange Project.
Jonas Steur proves to be part of the best trance producers of the world as you can hear on his interpretation of “Split”. This remix was released in December of 2006 together with aT4L remix and has proven it’s dance floor potential due to the enormous amount of positive reactions coming out of the club-scene around the globe.

Obviously a remix of the first single “Lyteo” can’t be missed on this album. Nobody less than Rank 1 transformed Lyteo’s original track into a real tech-trancer but keeping it’s original theme in place.

Past October we closed the remix contest for the “Lodestar” track. Mr Sam wanted to give young producers a good opportunity to settle their name by giving them
carte-blanche with the outtakes of this track. This was a difficult assessment but with more than one hundred producers submitting remixes we can also say that it was very successful. The results were a variety of different uplifting styles to more down tempo tracks as the one from eventual winner Jay B.
<<I got this remix 15 days after the beginning of the contest. I listened to it at night back from a all day in studio. I was directly blown away by the quality of the production and the atmosphere of this down tempo remix. I wish I could have directly send Jay an email straight away to congratulate him. I listened to it maybe 10 times in a row before sleeping and slept with a large smile on my face for many reasons. First because that was exactly the kind of remix I was searching for but also because it’s top quality. After I read the mail he sent me for his remix and discovered that he was only 17 years old!>>

Due to the enormous amount of competitors we decided to choose a second winner who’s remix also features on “Lyteo - Interpretations”. Mr Sam introduces the second winners “Arcane Science”.
<< After I chose the first remix, I thought I could choose another one due to the big amount of great remixes we received. As I picked up already a down tempo alternative mix, I wanted to pick up a clubby one. The selection was even harder due to the great remixes we received. I had to listen them all again to make my final choice. I finally chose the « Arcane Science Remix ». I never heard of them before at all and discovered a very nice remix that directly pleased me. They kept the original melody and transposed it perfectly to their club mix and I directly loved it. This is a strong remix and well produced. I’ve been playing the remix in clubs out and it goes down in an absolute storm! Those Arcane Science guys are really the ones to watch at the moment.>>

Together with Dimitri Andreas. Mr Sam forms the well known producers duo named “Mojado”. The track “Flying Around” is remixed by Mojado and the Mojado fan will notice the rhythmical typical techno sound of Mojado as on their previous album “Arena”. Dimitri Andreas is also featured with a solo remix of the track “Me & You”, and both of them are really eye-catchers of this album.

“Lyteo - Interpretations” is not your standard “take-away trance”, to quote a reviewer of djbroadcast.com.
The album really stands it’s ground and maybe surpasses the original album on some points.
