The second vinyl release out of Berlin’s label Konsequenz is a journey from the minds and instruments of two remarkable German producers – Marlow & ComixXx. The two artists compliment each other while Marlow brings the academic approach and live instruments into the mix; ComixXx is the barometer of what is right in club music today. Together they create organic electronic music, with the emphasis on making tracks that are meant for the floor, but are much more. This approach was first recognized by Matthias Tanzmann who released numerous EPs and remixes from the duo on his imprint Moon Harbour. July 21 will see their debut on Konsequenz “Sidewalk Hustler”, already recognized by DJ T & Tanzmann.

The title track on the A side is a perfect demonstration of M & C’s approach to producing. This track develops constantly in an unconventional way for club music, supported by a melodic rhythmic synth that’s happy and sad at the same time, and a groove that keeps pushing forward. Even while their trip reaches its peek, it is done in a very stylish and dynamic way, reaching satisfaction yet still asking for more.

The “more” can be found on the flip side. “The Crowed Gathered One Fine Morning” title pretty much says it all. In a deeper interpretation of the genre, Marlow & ComixXx put aside the word quantization, and deliver nine minutes of diverse production skills. While the lead melody keeps the track steady, M & C use deep acid pads, live instruments and what ever else they can throw our way to make us feel a part of that one fine morning, making it a great track for the after hours.
