As a wise man once sang: “Let the sunshine in!” and guess what? Someone must have been listening because the sun has its bags packed and is now on its way to Northern Ireland for this weekend’s Planet Love WKD 2006!
The official line from the Met Office is that beautiful big ice cream melter in the sky will touch down in its full glory in Northern Ireland from later today onwards and stay with us over the weekend.
So, while we always knew that Planet Love WKD 06, in association with BBC Radio 1 was destined to be pretty hot - it is now official!
Over 70 DJs will travel from across the world, UK and Ireland for what is this country’s biggest dance music festival, taking place at Shane’s Castle, Antrim this Saturday.
Paul Van Dyk, Chicane exclusively live, the Happy Mondays DJs, Mauro Picotto, Judge Jules, Fergie, Lisa Lashes.the list goes on and on as the cr?me de la cr?me are lined up over eight stages for this 12 hour dance music extravaganza.
“It’s looking great,” said Eddie Wray, promoter of Planet Love festival which is now in its 8th year. “There are many changes made to this year’s event in all areas, so that - together with the fabulous line up, Radio 1 and now a brilliant weather forecast - we’re really looking forward to it!”
And so, as the big day draws mouth-wateringly close, Ireland’s dance music aficionados are gearing up for the party of the ye ar.
And there’s nothing like a fine spell of summer weather to maximize that festival, al fresco buzz.
