You know how it is with clubbing. Some nights are all about propping up the bar, catching up with friends, and catching the eye of a beautiful girl / boy across the bar. Other nights, you want to roll up your trousers, push back your sleeves and jump right into the middle of a hot sweaty dancefloor. A Garnier night, without fail, always fits into the latter category.

Monsieur Garnier steps up into the great blue DJ booth at 11pm and is still there 9 hours later. A man on an all night long solo mission, he invites you to join him. Forget where your friends are, forget you even have friends, find some new ones, and get your head down and your hands up for one of the great masters of the art of DJing

He takes to the decks as the club is filling up and the crowd get gradually pulled into the main room, bewitched by hypnotic deep house rhythms. It doesn’t take long before a dancefloor that is mildly simmering is boiling over, as deep house turns into what could best be described as epic techno. One minute he’s slipping on a so-fresh-it’s-still-hot CDR, the next he’s blowing the dust off a classic piece of vinyl such as ‘Crispy Bacon’. Those who have had the pleasure of an all night Garnier set before will know that the night is never complete without him tearing out some drum and bass, or putting a smile on everyone’s faces as he finishes off with an old disco classic.

If you feel the need to emerge for air, and lets face it – with a night this intense you may need to pause for breath once in a while – you can emerge blinking into AKA where a long cool drink awaits you and Luke Solomon’s perfectly composed soundtrack of house, disco and wonky techno keeps your feet moving and your mouth smiling at his Little Creatures residency.
