Kissdafunk Launches Debut Album in March 2007
29/01/2007House club phenomenon, Kissdafunk is to launch its own compilation series. The first double-disc album is scheduled to hit the shops at the end of March and will be mixed by Kissdafunk’s Rob Tissera and Radio 1/KDF residents,The Trophy Twins.
Released on New State the series intends to capture the energy and vibrancy of the night, which has not only rocked the North but become one of the Top 40 Clubs in the world. In summer 2006 it also re-wrote the rule book, when its Kanya Ibiza Monday night parties attracted attention, after managing to pull in record breaking crowds.
‘The Kissdafunk album has been a long time in the thinking and it’s great that it’s finally reached a time where it’s prudent to release it. For me and Rob this is the final piece of the kdf jigsaw and I’d like to thank when everybody at team Kissdafunk for three years work and all the people who attend our gigs, without them the album wouldn’t be possible” Explains KDF co-promoter, Glyn Tolley.
Currently the KDF team aims to release two albums per year. Each edition will treat the listener to the very best upfront tracks from the world’s best producers; featuring contributions from a selection of the fabulous guests it has welcomed over its three year history.
These have included the likes of David Guetta, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Deepgroove, Robbie Rivera, Axwell, Stonebridge, Mark Knight, Tocadisco, Herd & Fitz and the Shapeshifters; to name a few. Added to that it will include productions from its stellar residents in the form of The Trophy Twins, Rob Tissera, Filthy Rich and Marc Leaf.
The idea is to encapsulate the incredible atmosphere which has been instrumental in KDF’s success; and present it in way so people can enjoy a bit of the KDF experience in their car, on their iPod, on the beach or, indeed any way they wish!
