Kissdafunk 3rd Birthday @ Club Mission

3rd birthday parties are normally associated with musical statues, pass the parcel and jelly wobbling on a plate. Thankfully for everyone at kiss da funk this weekend, the only wobbling was going on on the Mission dance floor.
With clubbers flocking from all over the country to meet with up the KDF regulars, it was no surprise that dedicated partygoers were prepared to queue for up to two hours to help celebrate this most anticipated night.
As the night got underway it was clear to see that there was a special atmosphere in the air and the DJ’s and the dedicated clubbers were there to give KDT its most fiendish birthday party yet.
In the main room Mark Knight and KDF regulars Rob Tissera and the trophy twins had everyone dancing to the sound of their unique mixes. Not only was the crowd in fine form but the KDF girls looked set to celebrate the night in a massive way. And celebrate they did, taking the KDF crowd on a rollercoaster ride that will be etched in their memory, if they have any left, till KDF’s next birthday.
The newly refurbished Mission is an ideal venue for KDF, with two rooms, a chill out lounge and a balcony it is the perfect place to party hard and take a well earned breather in-between sets, although it looked that no one was chilling out on this special night.
As the night progressed and the tunes got funkier it was to everyone’s delight that Laura was introduced to play a live set on the sax, it goes with saying the pulsated clubbers stepped it up a gear.
We managed to catch up with Rob Tissera for a quick chit chat straight after his colossal set, who said: “The people are what make KDF such a special event. Our third birthday produced even more energy and spirit than normal and made for an absolutely wicked night.”
As it sneaked towards 5am the tunes were still playing and the crowd was partying hard. As the night drew to a close it was clear than no one wanted this birthday party to end.
Happy Birthday Kiss da Funk, what more can be said other than thanks for a memorable night and we’re already looking forward to your fourth birthday.
