Julien Jabre and DJ Gregory – House Masters
June 14th, 2009
House Master is a title which many may claim but few can justify.
House Masters is the DJ friendly compilation series now in its fifth addition. It showcases the work of the world’s most talented house music producers who through their musical achievements have earned the right to be entitled a true ‘House Master’. Previous collections have presented the works of Louie Vega, Dennis Ferrer, Sandy Rivera and Bob Sinclar.
This is a series that brings both the artists’ own productions and all their most prominent remixes together in one collection – unmixed.
This series is aimed squarely at the DJ, with some tracks being made available digitally for the first time and all presented at full length. This is a perfect tool for any DJ and a valuable addition to your music collection.
House Master No.5 had been brought to you by two of France’s most talented producers DJ Gregory and Julien Jabre.
DJ Gregory is the extraordinary, passionate and unique house music producer and DJ. He is well known as one of the pioneering original French house set that established the foundations of the scene in the early 90’s.
Now re-located to Amsterdam from Paris, his signature sound has been heavily influenced by the African, West Indian and Caribbean community that populates Paris. This influence is shared by the head of the French house pack Bob Sinclar, and together they produced the critically acclaimed ‘Africanism’ project, from which two of Gregory’s productions ‘Block Party’ and ‘Tournament d’Amour’ became international club hits.
It was the Africanism project that ultimately led him to set up his own label, Faya Combo, a well respected label which released ‘Tropical Soundclash’ and ‘Elle’, both of which became instant successes.
Julian Jabre is a producer of equal integrity, being a long time collaborator and studio partner of Gregory.
Julien originally met DJ Gregory whilst DJing on the legendary Parisian radio station Radio FG. A former DJ who now solely produces, always looks for the emotional angle when creating dance tracks. This was especially apparent for the release that first brought him notoriety in 2005, ‘Swimming Places’, a huge WMC hit at the time and arguably his biggest record to date. It was not too long before he produced more tracks with the same passion and vibe. The ‘Talking Walls EP’ featuring ‘Talking Walls’ and ‘Stagger’ firmly put him back in the collective consciousness of many DJs. 2009 has started off powerfully for Julien with release of the ‘Vicious Circle’, being included in many of the elite DJ’s tracklists, as well as his most recent production ‘Boomerang’ which will appeal to the techier DJ’s.
This package is a collection of twenty of their best works. Essential to have in your DJ collection.
Released June 29th 09.
