Jay C Vs The Rock Steady Crew - Hey You

June 02, 2007

Q: What do you get when you cross Space Ibiza resident Jay C with the world’s best-loved B-boys The Rock Steady Crew?

A: a sure fire hit!

The Rock Steady Crew need no introduction. Having pioneered break dancing in the seventies and bringing it to the mainstream with the original version of this hit and others. Original crew favourites such as Crazy Legs are still bouncing off the walls and slaying worldwide break dancing competitions with the latest incarnation of the crew taking on B-Boys the world over.

With DJing & producer credentials as long as an elephants trunk Jay C has taken the crew’s most popular hit from 1983 and created an up to date rework which has so far received a lot of love from big knobs Erick Morillo, Dylan Rhymes, Ralphie Romance, Fedde Le Grand & Trent Cantrelle.

And a suitably large track requires suitably L-A-R-G-E remixes and Auntie Nebula has not let us down! First up adding their superfreakin’ touch on the remix tip Holland’s Beatfreaks responsible for perhaps one of the biggest crossover dance smashes of recent months have summoned up a large filtered house edit that kicks of this eclectic remix package. Next up top house producer Martin ten Velden gets a little deeper and drops some serious bass for his remix whilst breaks-master-turned-electro-wielder Friendly who fires it straight up for one destination - the dance floor. Throw in the Beatfreaks dub and your laughing. All we need now is a video… and I’m thinking with breakdancers, anyone?

Well fear not young Jedi, it’s under control - head over to Nebula.mu to watch old skool Rock Steady Crew footage get the 2007 mash up treatment…. bound to be an MTV favourite come summer, mark our words!
