Hot New SexOnWax EP : Navid Nourizadeh – Bassoligy EP

27/01/2008

Creative juices have been positively overflowing here in darkest London town during these past few months. Indeed, following Omid 16B’s third artist album (“Like 3 Ears and 1 Eye”) it’s already time for the second SexOnWax release of 2008 – and keeping it personal this time around is Navid Nourizadeh, younger brother of label founder Omid.

Navid has always shared his blood and bass brother’s passion for the electronic and has produced music since he was a teenager. In fact, Alola, a label Omid set up prior to SexOnWax, released one of Nav’s very first productions, the addictively deep ‘n’ techy “Space Chase”. The year was 1996, Nav was just 16 years young and “Space Chase” was just the beginning. Now, with over a decade of club and production experience under his belt, Navid returns, but this time to SexOnWax, and this time with a completely new inauguration, a debut three-track EP.

Yes, DJs will hammer ‘em and clubbers will adore ‘em, so navigate Navid’s systems of sound with care, because this is the sound an artist of integrity reaching a zenith of creativity. This is a Party Spirit Personified (PSP) SexOnWax EP, incorporating three fist-blistering speaker-freakers…

First is “Bassoligy”, a subject Navid has studied longtime to bring you this massive, tripped out, bass-heavy bundle of undulating party joy. Bold, bouncy and sexily fierce in all the right rollicking places (grrr!).
Second is “Synth in Bass”, the fasted-paced production on the EP and definitely the toughest in the infants. With a slight nod to ‘prog’, high-drama in this fluid hybrid features a symphony of synths, bubbling, technoid bass and entrancing rhythms. Last, with dope beats giving way to the funkiest, most infectious bassline we’ve heard in a while, is “Wi-Erd”. Heavily under the influence of swirling pads and rich melodic goodness, “Wi-Erd” builds, tight in arrangement but loose at the hip.

Early tests show Navid’s EP to be highly successful in causing acute eruptions of dancefloor euphoria. But if you want to know more, open your ears and let us inside!

So it looks like sexonwax was the idea of Navid. From this article. I wonder then, what does Omid think about this name and how or who had this idea. But his answer usually is to write to michele. Who is respondin in the same style as made in his website-sexonwax.com.
And if sexonwax recordings would be bad for Omid, he wouldn’t have such a website.
