Gnarls Barkley Incites A Crazy Dress Code At Creamfields
18/08/2006It seems to be a case of a new dress code for a new venue at this year’s Creamfields, as research reveals a host of ticket holders will be emulating the fancy dress antics of headline act Gnarls Barkley.
Renowned for their stage costumes, the chart-topping duo of Cee Lo and Danger Mouse have performed in outfits including the Lion and Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz, Superman and Clark Kent and characters from Star Wars. Organisers of the UK’s number one dance festival asked 5000 ticket buyers which of the costumes worn by the singers of ‘Crazy’ they would wear to the festival.
It appears that 2006 is the year of Superman, as 40% of voters stated that the caped-crusader’s blue jump suit and red cape would be their favourite attire for the event in Halton, Cheshire, on Saturday 26th August Bank Holiday Weekend. Hot on his heels with 25% of the votes is Star Wars’ Luke Skywalker followed by his evil nemesis Darth Vader who achieved 15%. Not so popular amongst Creamfields fans was Dorothy’s chums – the Lion and Tin Man who both received 10%.
With the diversity of this year’s line-up stronger than ever before – The Prodigy, Goldfrapp, The Zutons and Gnarls Barkley all headlining the main stage, it appears that the crowd have decided to take things that step further and have jumped on the fancy dress dance train.
CEO of Cream,James Barton, said: “The stage antics of Gnarls Barkley have brought a whole new dimension to the fun that everyone will be having on the day. But whilst it’s the dance moves that generally catch our attention each year, this time we will have to keep an eye out for dancing Supermans and robotic lions.”
This years Creamfields festival takes place on Saturday 26th August Bank Holiday Weekend with headliners The Prodigy, Goldfrapp, The Zutons, Gnarls Barkley + 10 arenas of the worlds biggest DJ?s.
