Get Loaded in the Park 2007 - Update
June 14, 2007
London’s definitive indie-dance festival – Get Loaded in the Park - swaggers back into town on the August Bank Holiday weekend for a 4th rock n’ roll year of live music, DJs & festival fun. Get Loaded’s award-winning festival has established itself as one of the UK’s most groundbreaking inner-city events and this summer we’ll be pushing the musical envelope further with our greatest line-up EVER, reflecting multi-cultural London and everything that’s great about today’s thriving music scene.
Following this week’s announcement of the 4th and final Stage – hosted by Mike Skinners’ record label The Beats… and in addition to the wealth of talent already confirmed to bring on the party on the Common this summer – The Streets, Dirty Pretty Things, The Go! Team, Dizzee Rascal, M.I.A, The Rumble Strips, 2ManyDJs, MSTRKRFT, DJ Yoda, Bonde Do Role, Digitalism et al - we’ve now got another rabbit to pull out of the hat for you here…
- ART BRUT JUST ADDED -
No doubt nursing a few hangovers from their sell-out show at the Astoria last night, Art Brut have reason to be cheerful this morning as we announce their addition to the main stage at Get Loaded in the Park 2007. The South London outfit played at the first ever Get Loaded festival back in 2004, and now 3 years on they’re back on local patch, Clapham Common fulfilling the potential they’ve always promised.
Now signed to Mute Records, new single ‘Direct Hit’ is out on Monday, with the album (titled ‘It’s A Bit Complicated’) following on 25th June. Since they last ‘got loaded’, Art Brut have become rather big in the USA, where their debut album ‘Bang Bang Rock & Roll’ was No.3 in Pitchfork’s Album’s of the Year and they made it into Spin Magazine’s ‘25 Best Live Bands in the World’. Closer to home they’ve supported everyone from Oasis (Liam Gallagher’s favourite song is Modern Art) to Ghostface Killah and as last night’s sell-out Astoria gig shows, they’re rather popular too!! Catch them in London for this exclusive home-town festival gig.
