Gareth Emery

April 26, 2007

After shooting up the rankings to an impressive #34 in the DJ Mag Top 100 last year, Gareth Emery has enjoyed a fantastic start to 2007. He starred at the massive Trance Energy in Holland, prompting DJ Mag to write ‘look no further than Emery for trance’s brighter future.’

One the production side, the momentum just keeps on building for his remix of Albert Vorne – Formentera What? After Armin made it his Tune Of The Week, now Markus Schulz and Judge Jules are on it, both doing their own special re-edits. Jules loves it so much he has played it three weeks in a row and made it his ‘Bangin’ Tried & Tested’ record. The buzz around this is immense and it’s primed to be one of THE biggest trance anthems this summer!

Also fans may want to know what is happening with his massive bootleg of the Italian dance track Boosta – ‘Dance Is Dead’. It’s bagged Gareth another Tune Of The Week on Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance and there is pressure to get a release but for now – still TBC!

His bi-monthly podcast goes from strength to strength, bringing the best in underground dance music to an ever-expanding fanbase and launching Gareth into the Top 20 Music Podcasts in the world. This success was reflected by a nomination in the Miami Winter Music Conference International Dance Music Awards for ‘Best Podcast’. Standing alongside such dance music heavyweights as Pete Tong, Roger Sanchez and John Digweed, it proves the respect it has given him on a global scale.

A new addition has been the ‘Podcast Player’ where a top DJ comes on the phone and picks their biggest tune of the moment. Guests so far have included Judge Jules, Coburn, M.I.K.E., Chris Fortier and Fedde Le Grand. Upcoming he has none other than world #1 DJ Paul van Dyk, Chris Lake, Lisa Lashes, Plump DJs and Lucca on the show. As you can see, he is not confining it just to trance with a broad range of styles represented.

Also his Myspace has had a bit of an overhaul to say the least! We’re sure you’ll agree, Myspace pages can sometimes be a bit much, a sensory overload of flashy images and sound. Gareth however we feel has found the perfect balance between style and content. To check it out go to http://www.myspace.com/garethemery

Over the coming months you can catch Gareth playing anywhere from Turnmills to Turkey, taking in Russia, Finland and a tour of South America!
