Here?s one for the diary: set in an 19th century military fort located off the coast of Saint Petersburg that is accessible only by boat or helicopter, the Fort Dance Festival celebrates it?s 7th anniversary this summer by announcing it?s best event to date!

Fort Alexander I is one of the few remaining military bases left in the Gulf of Finland. Built over 200 years ago to protect St Petersburg from attack from invading armies, the fort itself is steeped in maritime history. On July 29th Fort Alexander I will be installed with state of the art lighting, production and killer sound systems to boot and will play host to the biggest annual celebration on the Russian clubbing calender!

The Fort Dance Festival attracts the cr?me de la cr?me of Russia?s most up for it party people with the party hungry masses rubbing shoulder with some of Russia?s beautiful people for a one-night dance extravaganza. With superstar DJ?s arriving by helicopter, the only way for party crew to arrive is via the regular boat service supplied by the event or for those with bigger, more ?expendable? incomes arriving by Yacht and mooring up by the party is the transport of choice.

Previous years events have welcomed Tiga, Lottie, Ti?sto, Leeroy Thornhill, Mark Spoon, Mylo (Live), Judge Jules, Mr.C, Paul Jackson and Sandra Collins and the announcement of this years line up is already drawing great interest from the Russian clubbing community.

Alongside a high level of production and a raw 120KW of sound the event itself will feature one main outdoor stage located at the centre of the venue and three separate music rooms (Tech, House & Electro) set amongst a citadel of corridors within the actual Fort itself. The party will also include amongst others a stunning ?mojito sunrise bar? on the roof of the fort, for the morning hours, private hire rooms set within the venue?s dungeons that come stocked with their very own topless dancers (optional!) and a VIP lounge and secret VVIP for the top level guests ensuring this party is simply like no other on the planet!

Fort Dance began in 2000 as a celebration of the developing Russian dance scene that has grown over the years to become Russia?s leading dance event and has legendary status amongst dance music fans in the country due to its stunning location, superb production and line up which combines some of the biggest names on the international DJ circuit alongside a whole host of Russia?s finest.

The dance scene began in Russia the mid 90?s as a very low level, underground scene and following a nationwide financial crisis at the end of the last century the scene has exploded out on the underground towards a mainstream audience. Only in the last few years has it been possible for promoters to throw large scale events booking international line ups with production to match. As Fort Dance is the only event of its kind in Russia, crowds flock from across the country to experience dance music en mass or the first time!

As UK interest towards international clubbing scenes and events grows, Russia is certainly one of the key territories and Fort Dance is one of the events to keep a close eye on in the future.
