Felix Da Housecat Album Launch
May 06, 2008
Pioneering label and latest member of our Ministry of Sound family, Global Underground return to host their second party this year with non other than Chicago legend Felix Da Housecat!
The two-time Grammy-nominated, groundbreaking DJ that is Felix Da Housecat is taking to the helm for Global Underground’s 1st DJ lead compilation of the year, being launched here at the club on the 10th May. With a deep minimal techno mix on CD1 featuring magic from Josh Wink, Sasha, Alex Bau, and Dubfire, and a funk tinged disco homage on CD2 featuring Quando Quando, John Dahlback, Kris menace and Felix himself, Global Underground firmly re-establish themselves as the world’s undisputed pioneers and leader of Electronic music.
We’re surely in for something very special then as the Detroit born, Chicago inspired artist takes to our very own Box room decks, no doubt capturing some of that hot Milano spirit! But for all the new direction and inspirations, no one can forget the 2001 album that thrust Felix Da Housecat fully into the mainstream. ‘Kittenz and thee Glitz’ turned dance music on its side, catching the attention of journalists and artists alike and saw him heralded by Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone and Spin as one of the most creative artists of his day.
Now he’s going to be here amongst us and we at Ministry of Sound are more than excited! With sets and productions that are always bursting with personality, the launch of this Global Underground compilation will no doubt capture some of the same spirit that makes Felix Da Housecat such a unique artist.
Playing alongside Felix are Jim Rivers and Anil Chwla, while Cass, favourite resident Marc Hughes and Dubfunk lead the bar takeover.
