F*** Me I’m Famous @ Cafe De Paris
7/06/2006On Thursday June 22nd Cathy and David Guetta return to London with the second UK instalment of their absolutely fabulous F*** Me I?m Famous parties, hosted this time midst the suitably decadent surroundings of Caf? de Paris.
F*** Me I?m Famous is a unique melting pot of every kind of nightclub creature ? and a place where anything goes. Picture the flamboyance of Studio 54 with the hindsight of Acid House. Add a Balearic twist and a pinch of Parisian chic and you?re half-way there. It?s sex, frocks and rock & roll ? with nothing taken too seriously. Except the music, of course.
David Guetta, France?s premiere jock (and voted HMA?s DJ of the Year 05 at Hammersmith Palais) is joined in the main-room by fellow Parisian and pal Pedro Winter, Ed Bangers Records honcho (and manager of Justice and Daft Punk). There?s a live performance too, but we are sworn to secrecy? although you?ll be the first to know.
Prohibition is Caroline Prothero?s new baby. Since missdemeanours moved up to be a ?proper? club night, she?s been aching to have a reprobate?s reunion. So, she?s hosting the intimate red-room for those whose behaviour should be kept out of sight (or is that mind?). Pam Hogg has been described as one of the most outrageous, creative and innovative designers in the UK. But this original Renaissance woman not only cuts cool cloth, she fronts her own kick ass music and spins a mean DJ set to boot. Nathan Detroit (of Glint and Fatboy?s Southern Fried Records) is joining the decadence out back too.
Since the debut UK event last October, F*** Me I?m Famous has taken NY, Miami WMC, Paris and, most recently, The Cannes Film Festival by the balls. At each and every city-block, David and Cathy have delivered their unique mix of glamour, unashamed decadence, with ? ooh ? just a soupcon of irony. And Monaco, Milan and maybe Moscow are on the map after the Ibiza season wraps. Three stand-alone FMIF parties are lined up at Pacha, starting 13 July and running throughout the summer with three additional co-hosts including Pure with Pete Tong, Def Mix with David Morales and Erick Morillo?s Subliminal. Or catch David if you can at Space?s opening party on 4th June.
The third in the ?F*** Me I?m Famous? album series is set for release on 26 June through Ministry of Sound recordings ? aptly called FMIF International. More on that to follow.
