Defected In the House @ Ministry of Sound, London
April 01, 2008
Where there’s an album launch party that is always a good story, when there’s two album launches then that’s big news! Dimitri from Paris joins New York’s house pioneer Quentin Harris to launch two consecutive albums at London’s biggest house niht.
Yes it true, there will be two of house music’s most renound talents launching an album each on the same night. Dimitri from Paris will be celebrating the imminent release of the next installment of the critically acclaimed ‘Live at the Playboy Mansion’ series. Joining him is the Strictly Rhythm premier artist and New York house pioneer Quentin Harris who releases his debut artist albu – ‘No Politics’ at the same event.
Dimitri’s from Paris is the ultimate DJ if you appreciate a delicate but sexy blend of chic disco and house. He really is an expert at controlling moods, whether it is peak party time or back at home sexytime. His new Playboy album (his third is the series which has sold just short of 400,000 copies) is an inspirational pairing of one’s of the world’s sexiest DJs with the ultimate fantasy playground. As well as his main set Dimitri has promised to perform a special secret exclusive set featuring some of the best tracks from he album to a lucky select few.
You would have thought that Quentin Harris would have been partially eclipsed by the immensity of the above release but no way. Quentin Harris brings us the launch of his Debut Album – ‘No Politics’ on the newly resurrected Strictly Rhythm label. This is an album that encompasses all aspects of Quentin’s broad sound from soulful house vibes to pumping peak time vocal trcks. Quentin will bring us a slice of the sound from his beloved New York Home – The Legendary club Shelter.
The news doesn’t stop there ‐ we have a re‐appearance ATFC on the Defected Roster! Its well known that ATFC have had numerous top 40 hits and remix credentials as long as the proverbial arm, Aydin (ATFC) has been a traditional name associated with Defected and features on two of Defected major releases this year with major remixs on Bob Sinclar’s – Together and Funkerman’s – Speed Up.
That brings us onto Funkerman, you will do well to remember the name, this is the new talent from Holland (the breeding ground for world class DJ talent). Already infamous as Fedde Le Grand’s label and studio partner, this Dutch jock is soon to drop his first UK crossover dance single ‘Speed up’, already heavily supported by Radio 1’s Pete Tong.
