Clandestino 5th birthday with Loco Dice - Sunday 4th November

November 01, 2007

The birth of Clandestino back in November 2002 was a momentous day. Single-handedly grabbing Sunday night by the scruff of the neck and giving it an almighty wallop, The End & AKA became the place to end your weekends.

Five years on and the night still attracts a vast and varied crowd. But they all share a few common traits, they know how to cause mischief, they look fantastic and most of all they know good music. The Clandestino soundtrack has evolved over the years, but has always remained one step ahead of the game, never less than cutting edge, with seductive house and techno the order of the day in 2007.

For the birthday party all the stops have been pulled out, with an extra room of decadence added just for good measure. Headlining the main room is Loco Dice, an undisputed member of the techno elite, and one of the most exciting figures in dance music right now. As well as regularly making appearances on wax for the likes of Minus and Ovum, he is a fully fledged member of the Cocoon family, releasing music through the label and having just completed a Summer residency for Sven Vath’s powerhouse label at Amnesia in Ibiza. His DJ sets are nothing short of electric, and no less should be expected when he steps back into the main room. Joining Dice in the main room will be promoter and resident DJ Miss Jools, a legend on the scene and behind the decks.

In the lounge, they have invited back former resident, and Clandestino legend Rap Saunders who will be supplying the coolest and most underground deep and soulful house for which he is notorious. Having been there on day one at Clandestino, Rap knows exactly what this crowd demand. Joining him in the main room will be Phonica’s Anthea.

Up in AKA, residents Luca Elle and Werner take the reins, spinning gorgeous, melodic house and techno.

Clandestino is an institution in the clubbing calendar, and in the fickle world of clubland, five years is an eternity. So let us don some oversized sunglasses, check our reflection and raise a glass to the most innovative Sunday night party in London.
