Chris Fortier – Remix EP 1
March 29th, 2007
This 12” release consists of two excellent remixes that Chris Fortier did recently that had not made it onto vinyl. Alexi Delano “Taste It”, was a remix for Railyard Recordings, that due to red tape within the label and distribution bureaucracy was still waiting for a vinyl release. The Freaky Chakra “West’ remix was something he started when he was working on the “Balance 007” (EQ) album, but never used it in the mix. After it was completed, the original label was not pressing vinyl anymore, so it was only released digitally.

As Chris says: “Vinyl is a very important thing to me. I still play 90% all vinyl and don’t have any plans on moving to cds or anything else. I got into DJing because of the music. I enjoy record shopping and hunting for tunes every day, and I find that part of my job just as important as the gigs themselves.”
”So after learning of these delayed and non-vinyl releases, I approached the labels and artists to let me do a limited run of vinyl of these so I can get the tracks out to the others who are still passionate about vinyl and record shopping as I am.”
Alexi Delano needs little introduction, a techno/underground kingpin with so many releases under his belt that your hands would get tired of typing. A master of all sounds imaginable. “This is a favorite remix of mine in my solo career and proud to have been able to work on a remix of an artist like Alexi with such a pedigree,” says Chris.
Freaky Chakra has been around for ages as well. He is also one who can spread his wings wide in any musical environment and sound.
This Remix EP is one of a handful of releases coming prior to the release of the much anticipated full length artist album from Chris Fortier in June 2007 called “As Long As The Moment Exists” on Australia’s finest EQ Recordings.
