Audio Bullys, Maxi Jazz & Trevor Loveys launch Bang! @ Scala - Fri 18th April

Following on from over 2 years of rammed-to-the-rafters parties at Brick Lane’s 93 Feet East featuring the likes of A. Skillz, Coldcut’s Jon More, Annie Nightingale and Hot Chip, the fearless Bang! crew are now taking over the awesome Scala in King’s Cross for the biggest party to date. The idea’s simple – combine world class DJs and live acts with the most promising up-and-coming performers, short films and visuals, a fantastically eclectic mix of music, and a crowd who don’t care about pigeonholes and are up for a damn good time.

London’s very own punk-housers Audio Bullys headline with a live set in the main room (now kitted out with a thumping, brand-new Turbosound System) after having torn Bang!’s recent 93 Feet East party to shreds with their rowdy, pumping take on house, electro and hip-hop. With deadly weapons like ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘We Don’t Care’, they always guarantee a riot – and this rare live appearance is not to be missed. Trevor Loveys has carved a name for himself over the last 5 years with his irresistible fidget house sound – first as one half of the dancefloor-terrorising Switch and now as one half of Speakerjunk and as a solo artist in his own right. Sexy, hard-grooving tech house and f*cked-up, twisted jackin’ electronic house is what this prolific producer’s all about.

Faithless’ lead singer and all round nice guy Maxi Jazz hosts the upstairs room, dishing out an eclectic, funked-up party set, while master of all things chill-out, ambient and experimental Mixmaster Morris hosts the VIP room with a load of his mates, providing a relaxed, sociable atmosphere to escape to when you need to rest your weary legs.

Add to this the likes of Jon Kennedy from superlative Brighton-based soul, funk, hip-hop and trip-hop label Tru Thoughts (where the likes of Quantic and Bonobo) spinning some beats, and a whole host of live acts, acoustic performers and more block-rocking DJs, and you’ve got yourself the makings of a rather awesome night of cutting-edge music at one of the capital’s finest music venues. Short films from the country’s most exciting new filmmakers will be premiered around the venue, with live VJing in the main room, and some rather handy Klug drinks promotions to get everyone nicely lubricated for the evening ahead.
