As One Presents: Cocoon with Sven Vath

After a monumental summer at Amnesia in Ibiza, Cocoon returns to the warm and welcoming confines of The End for a full on winter party. This time, Sven Vath ? techno warlord and pioneer of all that is electronic, driving and uplifting ? is back in control of The End all night long. There is no escape ? and nor should you want there to be!

Part rock-star, part DJ, Sven throws himself into every set as if it was his last. Whether he?s ripping his shirt off, crowd surfing, or plugging his headphones into the mic socket and ad-libbing over the records, he?s a million miles away from the head-down-don?t-look-at-the-crowd school of DJ?s, and all the better for it. Gude laune!

Last time Sven played here, for Cocoon?s debut at The End back in March, the crowd were treated to 8 hours of glittering techno, interspersed with slices of dark electro and electronica. Cocoon truly brings in a crowd like no other - clubbers who are here purely to get lost on the dancefloor to a sonic wall of music, creating an atmosphere of sheer abandon.

Sven?s Cocoon night began in Frankfurt in 1998, and since then has spread the madness around the world through a few carefully selected residencies, including its London home The End. 2006 has been another mammoth year for the DJ who has been called ?the only German pop star? (the Hoff doesn?t count!). He went on a world tour for the first five months of the year taking in Europe, Japan and South America. He held his third Green and Blue festival in his home town of Obertshausen ? a festival organised on the personal invitation of the town?s Major, who invited him back to set up a regular event in any part of the town that he wanted!

In addition, his annual Ibiza mix CD for Cocoon ? The Sound of the Seventh Season is due out in November, for those who want to relive the Amnesia experience in their living room (attempts to recreate the legendary Amnesia ice jets using your home freezer are not to be recommended!)

If you want a breather from the insanity downstairs, up in AKA Blonde bombshells Luke VB and Tim Red will be celebrating their 5th birthday. Don?t expect to get too much of a break from the dancefloor however, as these two consistently pack out AKA every time they play, with their upbeat house and electro. They will be joined by Secret Sundaze?s James Priestly, and the lovely Pigeonholed boys Gid and Will B ? who usually throw parties in unusual locations, but will tonight be bringing their not inconsiderable talents to the decks in AKA.
