Akon talks Michael Jackson teamwork : Other Music News
August 02, 2008
Akon has spoken out about writing new material with Michael Jackson, saying that it was “a dream come true” and proof that he’d “made it.”
The Senegalese rapper recently collaborated with the self-proclaimed King Of Pop on a track entitled Hold My Hand, which will feature on Akon’s next studio album, Acquitted.
Akon told MTV: “I had a wish list of all the collaborations I ever wanted to do. Mike was at the top.”

He explained: “I was saying, ‘Well, if ever I get to Mike, then that’ll be the sign I can retire’.
“But I got to Mike ten years earlier than I expected. So I decided not to make retirement goals anymore.”

Akon is believed to have finished his follow up to Konvicted, as well as a further album entitled Double Jeopardy. A release date has yet to be set for either album.
