Kissdafunk Halloween Party Special with Dave Spoon and Henrik B

Friday 31st October - Halloween Night @ Mission, Leeds

Double double, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble. Now prepare yourself, if you dare and be keen to come to Kissdafunk on Halloween….

On 31st October Radio One dj Dave Spoon comes back to haunt the cavernous arches of Mission with his acid infused smorgasbord of frighteningly good house. Purveyor of big tunes such as ‘ ‘At Night’ and ‘Bad Girls’ he’s spent a good part of 2008 working on his forthcoming artist album as well as hosting his Thursday night Radio One show (In New DJs We Trust).

Swedish spirit Henrik B joins him for a double- trouble night of such good tunage they may scare the living daylight out of you!

Together they are two of the most productive international producers with tracks peppering this summer’s compilation albums. Both have also been requested by the KDF crowd to make a return, so what better day than the scariest day of the year….mwahahahahahahahahaha.

Count Dracula himself Rob Tissera joins fellow resident spinners The Trophy Twins and Drew Scott, while room 2 will be taken over by local heros and KDF favourites, Strut - for that party within a party vibe.

As it’s Halloween fancy dress is actively encouraged (but not definitely not essential) so whether you see yourself as sexy vampire, a mischievous ghost or a wicked witch get your creative juices going.

Are You Ready to Beat the Ghouls and Ghosts at Kissdafunk Halloween?

Gorillaz to make new LP

Damon Albarn has revealed he will be making another Gorillaz album.

Despite saying last year that the virtual group had had its day, the former Blur frontman has now said he and partner Jamie Hewlett were working on new material for the follow-up to 2005’s Demon Days.

He told the Daily Star: “We’re doing another Gorillaz record. We’re not entirely certain what it will be like. We generally just go with our gut instinct.”

Although a release date has as yet been unconfirmed, Albarn confirmed he had musical ideas he could not express in his The Good, The Bad And The Queen and Monkey projects.

He added: “We came back from summer holidays and realised we could do exactly what we wanted to do with Gorillaz.”

New Eminem LP may come out in 2008 - Other Music News

Eminem may release a new album this year.

The Detroit rapper, real-name Marshall Mathers, told listeners to Shade 45, his US satellite radio station, that he’d been producing tracks for other acts and himself.

He said: “I’m concentrating on my own stuff right now - just banging out tracks.”

He explained: “The more I keep producing, the better it seems I get. I start knowing stuff, learning the boards like the back of my hands.”

Although there is no official release date for an album or a single, Interscope, Eminem’s US record label, have confirmed an album may be released before the end of the year.

Azuli Announce Final Secret Ibiza Beach Party

Club Azuli are back on Friday 26th September to kick off the Ibiza closing weekend with the last in their summer series of secret Ibiza beach parties. As always, the location is top secret as is the line up. Suffice to say that previous special guests behind the decks have included Pete Tong, Andy Cato and Yousef, with names like Danny Tenaglia turning up to party. All proceeds from this party will go to the Danny Torres Foundation for disabled children in Ibiza (www.danny-torres.com) and Azuli will definitely not disappoint on this last chance to dance barefoot in the sand before another summer is over…

The Club Azuli secret Ibiza beach parties have been the most talked about (but hardest to find) parties on the island this summer. After a run in with the authorities, the last secret beach party on 10th September was so under the radar that we weren’t even allowed to send out a press release! The party raised money for the Danny Torres Foundation and, as with all the Club Azuli Secret Ibiza Beach parties before it, somehow all the right people heard about it, found it and partied like their lives depended on it (see attached pics).

The last party is set to kick off the Ibiza closing weekend and will be the last chance to experience a return to the original vibe of Ibiza, something which heavy handed authorities, rampant commercialism and high prices has threatened to destroy for good.

Basshunter- Angel In The Night - Video

The un-stoppable phenomenon that is Basshunter will un-leash his brand new track ‘Angel In The Night’ on September 29th through the UK’s hottest dance label Hard2Beat.

Taken from his massive No.1 debut album ‘Now You’re Gone’ which stormed straight to the top of the UK charts in July, knocking Coldplay off the top spot in the process, the ultimate bass creator is backwith the amazing ‘Angel In The Night’.

Written and produced by Basshunter, aka Jonas Altberg, the track showcases his vocal talents and highlights exactly why he has established himself as the world’s biggest dance star in 2008.

Having already achieved over 500,000 hits on You Tube, ‘Angel In The Night’ looks set to follow in the successful footsteps of ‘Now You’re Gone’ (No.1 hit and biggest selling dance single on the year) and ‘All I Ever Wanted’ (No.2 smash hit).

The story for the video for ‘Angel In The Night’ follows on from the ‘All I Ever Wanted’ video. Again the promo stars sex kitten Aylar, but in this video she has been left heart broken by her old boyfriend, Lucas, and is consoled by a new love interest, namely Basshunter himself! The video has been shot in Oslo, Norway and also features an outrageous car race.

200809222000.jpg

Not content with a string of smash hits, Basshunter is also gearing up for a UK-wide tour at the end of the year, visiting fans from London to Edinburgh. Having spent the summer performing at one-off events and clubs across the continent from T4 On The Beach to Gay Pride, Basshunter is now itching to do a full tour.

War Child announce new album ‘Heroes’

“Heroes”, released by EMI’s Parlophone label on November 24, features a unique and unprecedented collaboration between the biggest names in music history and today’s hottest artists, working with a concept that mirrors one of the intrinsic aims of War Child’s efforts in war zones across the world – to place faith in the next generation.

The concept of “Heroes” is that the biggest legends in music, including Sir Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Brian Wilson and The Clash, select one of the classic tracks from their own songwriting canon, and nominate an artist from the next generation to create a modern reworking of that classic song.

The full track listing will be announced in due course but already the album is shaping up to be a musical tour- de-force with the following amazing cover versions:

DUFFY covering SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY’S “LIVE AND LET DIE”

HOT CHIP covering JOY DIVISION’S “TRANSMISSION”

BECK covering BOB DYLAN’S “LEOPARD-SKIN PILL-BOX HAT”

BRIAN WILSON nominating RUFUS WAINWRIGHT, who performs a medley of two tracks from “Smile”

THE KOOKS covering THE KINKS’ “VICTORIA”.

Many tracks by hugely successful contemporary artists are still being finished; the completed War Child record will be an album of staggering musical diversity uniting the cream of musical giants from different generations.

The album cover has been created for War Child by John Squire, who did the artwork for the legendary “Help” album, the first to be released to benefit the charity.
