On Saturday 10th May the Sven Vath show rolls into town on the London leg of his ‘Sound of the 8th Season’ world tour, celebrating a glorious season of nonsense on the White Isle last year and looking forward to more this summer.
Sven is one of those DJs whose presence creates a huge amount of anticipation, and by the time he takes to the decks the crowd are always ready to explode. Minimal is not a word that you would associate with the Cocoon boss – his techno runs at full power with all guns blazing. Dark melodies slice through thundering basslines, as you get sucked into the all encompassing sound of Cocoon.

Following the success of the Circus events and driven by a desire to get back in the studio and make music, Yousef (dj and Circus promoter) has launched Circus Recordings.
Based around the musical direction and spectrum of the Circus events, come the beginnings of the new label… With the sound of Circus appealing to the clubs loyal fan base and way beyond (the club message board is one of the busiest in Europe for an independent club, with 4million hits in January alone), it was only a matter of time before the label was born.

On Friday 11th April, at precisely 6pm London got Rickrolled! The whole of Liverpool Street station turned into the site for the world’s first ever Rickmob - a Rick Astley inspired flashmob. Earlier in the day - excited about the event - the aptly named Rickrollerz recorded a new remix of Astley’s 80s classic “Never Gonna Give You Up” in the very same studio where the original was produced 20 years earlier!
Well over 20 million have fallen victim to the internet gag where an interesting link redirects you to the Rick Astley ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ hit video. 13 million have viewed the iconic pop masterpiece on YouTube in the last 7 days alone. Meanwhile chief executives of major record labels are looking on in awe and wonder as rickrolling continues to explode organically across the globe without any clever PR whatsoever.

You know how it is with clubbing. Some nights are all about propping up the bar, catching up with friends, and catching the eye of a beautiful girl / boy across the bar. Other nights, you want to roll up your trousers, push back your sleeves and jump right into the middle of a hot sweaty dancefloor. A Garnier night, without fail, always fits into the latter category.
Monsieur Garnier steps up into the great blue DJ booth at 11pm and is still there 9 hours later. A man on an all night long solo mission, he invites you to join him. Forget where your friends are, forget you even have friends, find some new ones, and get your head down and your hands up for one of the great masters of the art of DJing

Wild in the Country is over 18 fun-filled hours, six stunningly decorated, marquee’d arenas and a main outdoor stage that will play host to an exciting, diverse collection of artistes. Lose yourself in the Enchanted Wood; take a ride on the Victorian Fun Fair; enjoy a surreal trip to the Twisted Tearooms; relax in the giant, chill-out tipi and discover many more surprises and delights along the way…
Pulling out all of the stops for 2008, Wild in the Country announced last month that Bjork will headline this year’s event. It will be her only UK festival appearance in the whole of 2008. Now, Wild in the Country proudly releases its second wave of exciting festival information.
The legendary Danny Tenaglia has confirmed his appearance at Wild in the Country. This is his first UK festival for 6 years. Also on the DJ billing is the unsurpassable Carl Craig. Richie Hawtin will be bringing his techno vibe to Knebworth for the day with his own Minus arena. And Soulwax will be headlining their very own tent. Festival veterans Sister Bliss and Maxi Jazz of Faithless will also be teaming up for a rare joint DJ set.
Hot news on the live aspect of the festival is Hercules & Love Affair; H&LA have had a brilliant year so far with their super-successful disco-infused single ‘Blind’ and their self-titled long-player. While everyone’s favourite faux South American’s, The Cuban Brothers, will be on hand for jaunts of the Cuban kind.

Hot on the heels of the critically acclaimed second album Seven Way To Wonder and a set of storming, sold out gigs in London, Leeds and Manchester, Reel People are proud to present two brand new mixes by the major house talent that is Dennis Ferrer, released on 7th April (physical) and 21st April (digital) on Papa records.
Having already won support from Pete Tong, ‘DF’s Out On Bail Mix’ takes the warm vocals of New York underground soul luminary Darien and marries them to a deep, techy mix, offering the perfect balance of light and dark. Bouncy, jerky drums sit on top of a wobbly, lurching bassline and wildpitch-style synth stabs. ‘DF’s Out On Bail Instrumental’ takes the track down a murky alleyway, adding pitched-down 303 squelches, a winsome melody played on what sounds like a synthesised melodica, and moody, organ-like stabs.
