Quivver -Dar Rooms

A chunky electronic groove punctuated with Quivver’s characteristic hooks, ‘Dancing In Dark Rooms’ is a stunning return. The likes of Sasha, Sander Kleinenberg, Dave Seaman, Jimmy Van M, Digweed, Nick Warren, and others are already heavily supporting the single. In radio-land, Pete Tong was first on board, giving the track its first airing on his ‘In New Music We Trust Show’ on Radio 1, and expect many more specialist shows to follow suit following the imminent club mailout.

With a fanbase that stretches around the globe, John Graham aka Quivver, Space Manoeuvres, Stoneproof, Skanna, and Tilt needs little introduction. His productions have been a staple of the world’s leading DJs for over a decade. A leading producer, DJ, and vocalist, John’s performed at clubs and events ranging from Glastonbury, Live 8 (in front of 300,000 people with Planet Funk), and the Olympics through to Glade, Ultra, Extrema, Turnmills, Twilo (his residency with Lawler and DJ Three), and Pacha, Ibiza.

Alibi vs Rockefeller - Sexual Healing Remix - Video

A production duo from Brighton, The Alibi are close friends of the Freemasons, and in keeping with the tradition of dance acts from Brighton, have named themselves after a well known Brighton bar.

After recording their version of Marvin Gaye’s 1982 classic ‘Sexual Healing’, they discovered that by pure coincidence Rockefeller (Beatfreakz) had just made a version using exactly the same vocal.  So it was decided they would team up and the resulting track from these two chart topping artists has already made it to No. 1 in the Music Week Cool Cuts Chart and was riding high in the DMC Update Buzz Chart.

With support from Pete Tong, Scott Mills, Kiss FM, Galaxy, the Hed Kandi boys, Herd & Fitz through to the Hoxton Whores this track is building up to be a summer anthem. Alibi Vs Rockefeller bring this classic track bang up to date and ensure this will be a classic for decades to come, with a killer remix package.

Pete Tong and Sarah Main Pure Pacha Album 2007

Pete Tong’s Pure Pacha party is now into its 5th year. With record-breaking numbers and exceptional guests Pure Pacha retains its title as the king of elegant and debauched partying. With a beautiful ‘extended family’ of like minded people at play every Friday night and always to the soundtrack of edgy house music, eclectic soul and hip hop - Pure Pacha is where it’s at.

What better way to mark this celebration of summer than with the next instalment of the Pure Pacha album mixed by Pete Tong and Sarah Main. An eclectic offering as Pete goes straight into things with Antenna’s ‘Camino Del Sol’, a deeply hypnotic, bleep-laden track hotly followed by Pete’s cut of the summer ‘Every Heartbeat’ by Kleepup with vocals from Robyn. Producer de jour Mark Ronson also features with his smash ‘Stop Me’. Pete’s own production with Paul Harris and Jay P ‘Wonderland’ is on there - the best example of a tribute to all that is trippy and techy if ever there was one; it sits neatly alongside James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli’s One+One offering ‘No Pressure’, with its beautifully crafted strings and atmospheric break down this makes for one unforgettable mix.

Pure Pacha interview Part 2 of 8 - Wally Lopez

What does Ibiza mean to you? can you tell us about your first experience of Ibiza? was it very different to your Ibiza visits now?

Ibiza is the place to be, the center of the world for dj bussiness…My first experience was not that good to be honest. The first beach I went to was Sa Tinxa, I was just chatting a girl and someone told me to shut up because the beach was for relaxing – it was all very un-ibiza. Anyway, I came back to Madrid not that in love with the place….oh how times change. I am very passionate about the island now.
What have you got planned for your set at pure pacha?

I think people will see how much I have changed my music, I hope people like it. My favourite set last year was at Pure Pacha so I am really excited about going back.

Chew the Fat- at The End - Rogue Element - Audiojack - Blende and more

As king of breaks parties, Chew The Fat! tears strips out of The End’s main room sound system once a month. Fat! have been nobly carrying the torch for breakbeat at The End for almost three years now, and as summer reaches its zenith on Friday July 13th they will return to The End’s pulpit for another mindblowing session. Diversity is a valuable commodity in dance music these days, and with that in mind, Fat! have pulled together three guests of the highest quality, with varying sounds and styles, to play alongside their superb residents Paul Arnold and Kid Blue.

Rogue Element is one of the hottest properties in breaks. After bursting onto the scene in 2004 with releases on Nukleuz offshoot Beautiful Records and Exceptional Records, his tunes and remixes were being routinely hammered by every DJ on the scene. His rise in notoriety led to him winning ‘Best Breakthrough Producer’ at the 2005 Breakspoll Awards, and then following that up with a ‘Best Producer’ award at the 2006 ceremony. Quite an achievement, and one that confirmed his position as the most exciting producer in the breaks scene right now.

Bedrock - Heaven Scent

So listen up. Tong’s played it, Tiësto loves it, PvD has been using it as a peak to his sets, Eddie Halliwell has been giving it massive support on radio and in the clubs, Marco V can¹t get enough of it, Above & Beyond think it¹s one of the best remixes they¹ve heard in years, John 00 Fleming’s been caning it, Sander Van Doorn thinks it¹s bloody good, in fact there is not one person in the trance community (and beyond) who does not think this could be one of the biggest remixes of the year and you know what? Team Cypher agree.

In case you’re not aware Bedrock’s ‘Heaven Scent’ was possibly one of the biggest progressive house tracks from the late 90s. Written by Bedrock head honcho John Digweed and Nick Muir, it was originally released on John¹s Bedrock imprint in 1999 and saw Digweed move towards a tougher sound, thereby transcending the boundaries of progressive house and featuring highly on a multitude of DJs play lists the world over. The track was subsequently licensed to many compilations around the globe, securing its place in dance music history as one of the genres timeless anthems.

Pure Pacha interview Part 1 of 8 - Axwell

Part 1 of a massive 8 part interviews from Pure Pacha Ibiza residents around their gigs with Pete Tong at Pure Pacha. First up :

Axwell

 Images Photos Artistes Axwell
What does Ibiza mean to you, can you tell us about your first experience of Ibiza, was it very different to your Ibiza visits now?

First time I went to Ibiza was the first time I actually played at pacha. I did a warm up set for todd terry on the ministry of sound night they used to have. I always said to myself that i wouldn’t go to ibiza until i got asked to play there, it was some sort of a goal that i had. It was a great experience! It’s always nice to go to such a mythical place that i had heard so many things of.

What have you got planned for your set at pure pacha?

I hope to have a couple of tracks out during that time to play and try on the crowd. I hope that my track “I found U” will work on the pacha crowd as well as the new one “It’s True”. Apart from that i hope to have some nice unexpected mashups, and some big tracks that will define the summer. I don’t want to go too dark, after all its summer, not winter.
