It’s often said that writing an artist album in dance music is one of the hardest things to do. As a producer of club music do you make ten bangers or do you drift into the ‘artist’ realm and make album tracks that bear little relationship to what you’re initially known for?
Well for Nick Riley & Andi Durrant, award-winning radio presenters, international DJ’s, remix and production artists for some of the biggest artists and labels in the world, the answer was easy. Create and album spanning a multitude of genres with such apparent ease that this could be one of the finest commercial dance albums of the year!
‘Research & Development’ features twelve killer tracks which see the lads drift effortlessly from the finest dirty house to deep techno, ambient interludes and of course not forgetting a dash of more trance-led moments all wrapped up in the finest production to give ‘Research & Development’ such a well rounded edge to create a modern master piece.

If you haven’t heard the news already, Chris Fortier is releasing debut solo album “As Long as the Moment Exists”, which he’s put together over the past year, via Australia’s finest independent label EQ Recordings, and because of his love of vinyl as a DJ has chosen eight of the diverse album tracks to release on two 12” EPs for DJs and vinyl lovers alike. EP1 will be followed by EP2 at the end of the summer. The music comes straight from the heart and sees Chris spread his wings to become a true artist beyond his fame as a DJ.
“This is a wicked collection of deep, minimal, electro, acidic and dirty house, and to be honest it has been well worth the wait. All in all it sounds like house going all electric boogaloo – it’s sublime.” – One Week To Live
The album took all of 2006 to complete, and all tracks have been tweaked and edited to ensure the best possible journey into sound. ”As Long as the Moment Exists” explores a variety of underground electronic influences with an experimental twist. It takes some time to appreciate this album, but like any great journey the end result is truly rewarding.

Data Records continue to prove themselves as the dance label to be reckoned with as they introduce ‘Rise up’ by Yves Larock, the record sure to be crowned soundtrack to the summer of 2007. In the same vein as the massive hits from Funkstar Deluxe ‘Sun in Shining’ and Bob Sinclar’s ‘Love Generation’, one listen instantly stamps sunshine on the brain!
Yves ‘Larock’ Cheminade first came to people’s attention last year after Bob Sinclar signed his record ’Zookey’ to his Africanism imprint. Yves’ music fitted perfectly into the reggae influenced French house sound of the label and after it was picked up in the UK by Defected, ‘Zookey’ became a massive underground anthem.
On ‘Rise Up’, Yves has yet again expertly blended uplifting house and a reggae vocal, this time courtesy of Jaba, who took time out of his busy touring schedule with his band ‘Moonraisers’. With a hook big enough to land Moby Dick, expect Yves’ career to catapult to the next level when ‘Rise Up’ does some serious chart damage come July.

What does Ibiza mean to you? can you tell us about your first experience of Ibiza? was it very different to your Ibiza visits now?
I love ibiza – its the most magical country ive been to. When I was younger it was all about the fun and finding parties and not going to sleep – its the opposite now, I love the restaurants and the quiet places and discovering new beaches and hang outs.
What have you got planned for your set at pure pacha?
The usual mad mash up of everything from funk and hip hop to drum and bass and electro..i like challenging the cliché that ibizas only bout house music.

London’s most iconic night returns to Heaven on Friday July 27th with the full intention of having it large.
Peach, one of the biggest legends in recent clubbing history, exploded back onto the scene in May. The faithful and those newly acquainted have been far from disappointed with the list of DJs paraded in front of them for their dance floor pleasure.
So far this year we’ve seen Mark Norman, Aly & Fila, Tillman Urhmacher, John O’ Callaghan, Abel Ramos and Darren Pearce grace the decks alongside the man himself, Graham Gold. For July, they’ve upped the ante even further with a world-class line-up that should have the Peachy Ravers beside themselves.
Needing absolutely no introduction whatsoever (unless you’ve had your head under a stone for the past two decades) is one of the undisputed kings of global trance. John ‘00’ Fleming draws crowds of thousands whether he’s playing in South America, North America, Asia or in Europe. He flies in for this exclusive UK gig with some of the most deliciously twisted psy-trance and tech-trance music money can buy.

What does Ibiza mean to you? Can you tell us about your first experience of Ibiza? Was it very different to your visits now?
Summer, Parties, Big DJ’S, summer hit records.
My first Ibiza experience came after an interview on a French magazine that was talking about the Friday night at Pacha, Ibiza and all the big DJ’s that was playing that night.
It was back in 1995 and at that time I was starting my DJ career so I wasn’t earning much money. But enough to book a flight ticket, I had the equivalent of 70 euros for 3 days. And I don’t know how I manage it but I got into Pacha without paying and I saw Erick Morillo playing that night. From then I made it my priority to play at Pacha - because I loved the crowd and the ambience.
So with that in mind my visits are very different now. But what always remains the same with Ibiza is that every night you can catch a big DJ or a good night.
What have you got planned for your set at pure pacha?
Exclusive big tracks of my own including ‘WARPED BASS’ that Pete could help to break in the UK market

Lisa Lashes is the biggest female DJ in the world – no contest. From rocking exotic dancefloors and the planets biggest clubs, to events for the UK Hell’s Angels, and being a patron of the Pink Ribbon Trust breast cancer charity, Lisa’s seen more of life than most. One of dance music’s most flamboyant characters, her music speaks for itself: anthemic, underground, and with so much energy it’s a wonder the International Atomic Agency hasn’t slapped a sanction on her.
‘Can’t Sleep’, written in homage to those ‘difficult’ hours of the early morning, is the next release on Lisa’s recently launched label Lashed Music, the platform for her own material and music from the best emerging talent. Recent single, ‘Always Faithful’, an explosive hard dance workout that laid waste to clubs the world over, served notice that 2007 would be Lisa’s year.
