Chris Fortier - Remix EP 1

This 12” release consists of two excellent remixes that Chris Fortier did recently that had not made it onto vinyl. Alexi Delano “Taste It”, was a remix for Railyard Recordings, that due to red tape within the label and distribution bureaucracy was still waiting for a vinyl release. The Freaky Chakra “West’ remix was something he started when he was working on the “Balance 007” (EQ) album, but never used it in the mix. After it was completed, the original label was not pressing vinyl anymore, so it was only released digitally.

Creamfields 2007

The UK’s favourite electronic music festival returns to the rural tree lined idyll of Daresbury in Cheshire on Saturday 25th August Bank Holiday weekend. This global award winning event just gets bigger and better, this year they continue their commitment to live music with over 12 bands performing and have secured one of the finest, coolest, mouth watering line ups ever, carefully put together with the sole objective to give you the experience of a lifetime.

Headlining this year’s festival is the Chemical Brothers. Friends of the family Tom & Ed return to the North for what will no doubt be a long overdue smash up performing some classics and refreshing new tracks from their highly acclaimed new album. Over the last decade the Chem’s have pushed the boundaries turning dance culture on its head and giving it a good shake, inventing and transcending big beat and trail blazing their way to the top of their field. Joining them on the awe inspiring Main Stage are super stylers Groove Armada, without doubt one of the most successful and multi talented dance acts in the UK. Having reinvented the house music wheel and played fast & loose with other genres besides, this Grammy nominated duo have had everyone from Elton John to the ibizan massive singing their praises. Adding a smattering of glamour to the Main Stage is Kelis. A surprising but all round fantastic coup for Creamfields. Therese - Feeling Me - Video

Therese is the Queen of the Swedish dance mafia, the North European contingent who between them have taken electro pop back to the top of the charts and to the heart of the UK’s dancefloors. She’s a chanteuse par excellence, a one-woman CPR unit here to resuscitate pop’s dormant body.

‘Feelin’ Me’ is the kind of highly charged electronic pop that Therese is famous for. Already picking up heavy plays from Radio 1, Galaxy, and more, it’s set to send her crashing back into the Top 10 once again. Boys and their guitars might have taken a brief hold of the good ship ‘Pop’, but it’s time to light the touch paper and repel all boarders – it’s about to get exciting again.

Therese’s two British Top 10 National Chart hits, ‘Put ‘Em High’ and ‘Take Me Away’, with producer Stonebridge, began a love affair with the UK that resulted in her making London her permanent home. Now signed to Positiva Records, she’s about to unleash her biggest single yet and make 2007 her year.

Stanton Sessions 6th April

Big Daddy Kane, born Antonio Hardy, is undeniably a seminal artist whose immense career and importance to music can hardly be justified by description. From classics like ‘Raw,’ ‘Set It Off’ and ‘Ain’t No Half Steppin’ to his work with the legendary Juice Crew - a collective from Cold Chillin’ Records with Marley Marl, Biz Markie and Roxanne Shante, among others - Big Daddy Kane has marked hip hop history with a unique, powerful impression. His inimitable style, both in rapping and fashion, has set trends that still linger 20 years later (long live the legacy of four-finger rings). His
second LP, ‘It’s A Big Daddy Thing,’ is still widely regarded as one of the most essential albums in hip hop. His fast-rap style and enchanting lyrical charisma has landed him work with far too many to mention – including the likes of Teddy Riley, Patty LaBelle, Jurassic 5, Morcheeba and, more recently, the Stanton Warriors with ‘Get Wild Off This,’ which shakes and breaks on 2006’s ‘Stanton Sessions Volume 2.’

“Because of all of his past tracks, we thought he would be perfect to be able to work our tempo. It wasn’t easy getting hold of him, but it was something we could tell our grandchildren about in years to come.”- Stanton Warriors

It seems only natural that the Stanton Warriors would feel inspired to celebrate the work and supremacy of the almighty Kane at their next onslaught of the Stanton Sessions at FABRICLIVE. This time around, the Stanton Warriors have lugged along some scorching hot and fr-fr-fr-fresh names to join the party, embracing Russian breakbeat sensation Lady Waks as well as Baltimore’s finest, Spank Rock, whose uptempo hip hop sound (reminiscent of Kane) fits
perfectly in line with the Warrior’s style…

Purrfect Electro 1st birthday review

Since starting out 1 year ago Purfect Electro has grown from strength to strength, showcasing the most talented djs the uk can offer.
Will Bailey, Tommy Four Seven and Dj Alekisj were our entertainers for this episode of Purfect Electro and what an episode it proved to be…..

We arrived at around 11.30 with no problems at the doors of Mission, already it was proving to look like the place to listen to some pounding electro music, the layout was purfect being built into an old railway archway made the sound system rock. As I entered the main room I was greeted with filthy electro house, it wasn’t the type of house you would normally hear so early and I would admit that it wasn’t for the faint hearted, however this was only the beginning, everybody was waiting to hear the sound Will Bailey was going to serve to the dancefloor…

De Souza featuring Shena - Guilty - Video

Guilty is a dazzling house anthem that screams of summer time. Remixes come from Bimbo Jones who adds a bouncier bassline, whilst Eddie Thoneik messes with the tempo for a darker journey and arrangement that takes it in a totally different direction; however it sure to be the radio and club mixes that capture the hearts and feet of the nation and propel it to being one of the biggest dance hits of the year!

Underwater - The End

For March’s Underwater session at The End, Darren Emerson is joined by Wagon Repair’s Konrad Black and Underwater label-mates Deepgroove in the main room, the Loose Cannons and Arveene party in the lounge and Phonica Radio Sound-System hosts the AKA with Ryan Shaw, Dan Foat and Reverso 68.

Konrad Black, behind label Wagon Repair alongside Mathew Johnson, Graham Boothby and Jesse Fisk (the label also releasing from artists Cobblestone Jazz, Mike Shannon and Lazy Fat People etc), is a DJ and producer receiving props from many of the big names around - Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Loco Dice, Sven Vath, Tiga and many more. His releases “Medusa Smile” and “Draconia”, on Wagon Repair, and recent remixes for Will Saul & Tom Cooper on Simple Records, Heartthrob’s “Baby Kate” on M-nus and Audion’s “Mouth to Mouth” on Spectral Sound are only a few reasons for this.

Get Loaded in Park / Cardiff Calling

As the boundaries between indie and dance, live and electronic music become ever more blurred and intertwined, the timing of this summer’s Get Loaded festivals in London and Cardiff couldn’t have been anymore apt or significant if it tried. The first dose of live music & DJs takes place in Cardiff on the glorious grounds of Coopers Field on Bank Holiday Saturday 25th August, as Cardiff Calling (10,000 people) returns to Wales for the second time after last year’s spectacular launch. The Get Loaded gang will then pack up the tour bus for more of the same on Sunday 26th August on Clapham Common (20,000 people), as the Award-Winning Get Loaded in the Park swaggers back into London for a 4th rock n’ roll year.

Last year’s debut Cardiff Calling event mixed up heavyweight headliners like Snow Patrol, De La Soul and Badly Drawn Boy, with raw new talent such as Lily Allen and Jamie T, alongside dance legends including Josh Wink and James Lavelle… whilst Get Loaded in the Park rejuvenated the career of Pete Doherty’s band Babyshambles and helped break the likes of Lily Allen and Guillemots to a wider audience, whilst Tiga, Erol Alkan, Green Velvet and Digitalism kept the electro freaks happy in the Dance Arena! Our Get Loaded festivals picked up 5 nominations at the UK Festival Awards 2006 for Best One Day Festival, Best New Festival and Innovation Award (all London) and Best One Day Festival and Best New Festival (both Cardiff).
