One+One James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli

Clip Image002

James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli first struck up a friendship during gigs in Asia in 2005. Their mutual understanding of each other’s music coupled with the fact they had fun and got into all sorts of mischief together made them inseparable. Throughout 2006 the pair experimented playing back2back, including New Year’s Day in Nic’s hometown of Maidstone, the sunnier climes of Miami’s WMC at Cafeteria and We Love… Space, Ibiza. All received rave reviews (no pun intended) and it was proof indeed JZ and Nic needed to take this idea further – and so ‘One+One’ is born.

The concept will encompass a world tour, starting at Miami’s WMC 2007 with a One+One launch party; the USA leg will see the pair touring like rock stars as they get aboard a tour bus and gig their way around the country covering the length and breadth of America with up to five gigs a week. Following this is a month touring the UK’s hotspots, a month in Asia and Australia trailed by a full 3 months in Europe centred around Ibiza’s summer season. James and Nic will play back2back together on every show. It’ll be a multiple CD deck and laptop extravaganza of layering music, bending sounds and twisting beats to one mind-blowing effect. With gig offers pouring in from every country on planet Earth and nine Festivals already confirmed expect more to follow in early 2007!

This remix was released in December of 2006 together with aT4L remix and has proven it’s dance floor potential due to the enormous amount of positive reactions coming out of the club-scene around the globe.

Obviously a remix of the first single “Lyteo” can’t be missed on this album. Nobody less than Rank 1 transformed Lyteo’s original track into a real tech-trancer but keeping it’s original theme in place.

Armin Van Buuren - 10 Years - Competition

Armin Van Buuren 10 #2337E5

He’s not even hit 30 and yet the world’s No.2 in command (source DJ Mag Top 100 Djs Poll) has enjoyed a decade at the forefront of club culture and his latest album ’10 Years’ features a selection of Armin’s classic hits and remixes and lays testament to how this fine Dutch DJ is one of the most important DJs in dance music.
“It’s not really a ‘best of’ album,” says Armin, “it’s more like tying up the loose ends. I’ve produced a lot of tracks under different names - Gaia, Perpetuous Dreamer, Darkstar – and loads of people ask me how to get hold of them, why certain tracks were only ever released on vinyl… A lot of mixes I did exclusively for my sets, but there’s so much demand for them, this seems like a good time to celebrate their success and just put them out there.”

Fedde La Grande Competition

200701171829

The first SESSIONS album of 2007 sees a new look design and a two mixes from one of the hottest breakthrough artists of 2006. Fedde Le Grand is a name that is now very familiar across the world, due to the phenomenal success of his crossover hit ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’.
Fedde started 2006 as a reasonably unknown House DJ in Holland, holding down a residency at Panama in Amsterdam with his night ‘Sneakerz’. He was no rookie though; things were going well with his club night and 2006 looked to be promising year. What an understatement that turned out to be! What started as a simple bassline popping in his head whilst making his breakfast one morning, would later end up as THE number 1 dance record of 2006 by the end of the year. ‘Put Your Hands Up For Detroit’ was initially released on his own label Flamingo Recordings and due to an overwhelming amount of support it was soon picked up by Cr2 and given a bigger push to make sure the track received the attention it deserved.

The number one summer anthem of Ibiza, it reached number 4 in the Dutch top 40 and stayed there for several weeks, masses of radio play followed including being added to the daytime A-list of Radio 1 six weeks before release, which is pretty unheard of for any dance record, let alone from an unknown artist with an electro house club track. On the 5th November the unthinkable happened for Fedde and his record went number 1 in the official UK singles chart and he became one of the hottest names in dance music. Not a bad year!

Carl Cox: ‘Beware false billing’

Carl Cox would like to issue a warning after club promoters have falsely confirmed his billing at their event.

Most of these rumours have been quashed prior to advertising going public, although promoters for Club Gothica in Lima, Peru are claiming Carl will play on February 24th. No agreement was ever made for Carl Cox to appear at this event. Of course, this happens on an on-going basis not only to Carl but other DJs, which further highlights the need for people to be vigilant against being fooled by false advertising.

“I’d like to warn people against the unfair and blatantly fraudulent way a small number of promoters can work, especially as I’d hate to see a fan getting ripped off,” says Carl. “I recommend that anyone who’s unsure if I’m genuinely playing somewhere, to check the diary page on www.carlcox.com. To make double sure, you can post a question on the forum. Due to a busy schedule, I might not be able to answer it personally, but myself and the team welcome the interaction with people.”

As One’ Presents Tim Deluxe

 Band 2006 07 Tim Deluxe B
In September 2006 a rapturous capacity crowd at The End were treated to an all night musical bonanza from one of dance music’s most popular characters. This unforgettable performance has heralded a swift return to The End’s main room turntables, as the inimitable Tim Deluxe gears up for another peak-time onslaught alongside a choice selection of guests on Saturday January 27th 2007.

Tim is a dance music veteran, scoring his first residency at Ministry in the early nineties whilst still under 18, and going on to produce some of the finest garage of the late 90s. However, it wasn’t until 2002, and the release of ‘It Just Won’t Do’ that Tim was fully catapulted in to the mainstream consciousness as he scored one of the biggest dance music anthems of recent years. That track was followed by his debut solo long player ‘The Little Ginger Club Kid’, which garnered both public and critical acclaim across the board. With his new album ‘Egodeath’ on the horizon and gathering steam, his name is finding itself back on the tip of everybody’s tongue, and with the cacophonous buzz that surrounded the release of the super-limited edition ‘Espoo’s Rose’, the album looks set to be huge! This main room set from one of the great party-starters is not to be missed as Tim slaloms his way through a peak time set of the finest across the board house, techno, breaks and more!
