They call their music electro-soul. Like the three very different individuals who make up Unklejam, it’s loud, colourful and funky but thoughtful too, with instant pop hooks and a heart full of soul. Listen hard and you’ll hear echoes of P-funk, the sweet sound of classic soul mixing with 80s electro-pop, all with an edge that’s totally contemporary, immediately commercial, yet oddly hard to place. It doesn’t sound like anything else around.
‘Love Ya’ is unadulterated fun. With its Rich Harrison style production, it’s call to shake it on the dancefloor. Carried along by a Prince- esque falsetto, its posturing and bravado are worthy of Rick James. The songs hard-edge grooves surely announce the return of the Super Freak. Putting the fun back in the funk they are a much needed breath of fresh air and counterpoint to all the serious looking skinny indie kids littering the airwaves.

Tony Vegas, Prime Cuts and Plus One are the Scratch Perverts - a name that has become synonymous with HipHop and battle DJing ever since their formation in 1996. Their reputation as one of the world’s most progressive DJ collectives is unparalleled; two consecutive World DMC Team titles, Plus One’s World DMC Champion and World Vestax Champion titles, Prime Cut’s back to back World ITF Scratching crowns, and countless showcases and gigs all over the world.
Having won all there is to offer in the competition circuit, the Perverts are ready to enter the next stage of their development as recording artists. But as DJs who have contributed countless techniques and pioneered such radical innovations developing the musical language of the turntable, what the Perverts define as HipHop is a long way off what people would expect. “HipHop is a celebration of all kinds of music just by its very nature,” explains Prime Cuts. “So it follows that our album is very much a HipHop album in the broadest sense of the term. We’ve tried to do what we see HipHop as being – a celebration of all music, taking on board everything that inspires us and channelling it into our tracks.”

This one’s a biggy, I’ll tell you that for free… Every now and again a tune comes through our offices that has Team Cypher staring long fully into each others eyes with tears welling, swiftly followed by hug - o - clock and this was one such track.
Nimrod is the alternative, underground name given to one of mainstream dance music’s most prolific producers Micky Modelle and Ryan Rafferty, one of Irelands fastest rising DJ talents. Together they blend hard club beats with emotional strings and vocals, alongside edgy percussive grooves to form this unique project. But we’ll rewind a little…
Irish-born Micky Modelle has been a firm fixture on the club scene since becoming back room resident for legendary venue Exit 15 in the mid 90’s, quickly graduating to the main room where he began his production career whilst working as manager for three of Belfast’s top underground record stores: Streetdance, Elite and Central Records, before long his tracks were being hammered by the likes of Tony De Vit, Steve Thomas and Lisa Pin Up.

followings of any DJ.
The Big Night Out is the Tidy Boys at their best. Full on production, eye-popping and exclusive tidy visuals courtesy of VJ Double Drop, jaw-dropping stage presence and thousands of
screaming fans. Old Skool Baz down the pub this ain’t, boys and girls. Taking on the magnificent Solant Room at the BIC alongside the mighty Godskitchen in the Windsor Hall,

“This is your school secretary speaking. I have here a message for the class of TW11 from your tidy Head. Please pay attention and listen carefully.”
On Friday March 23rd, Saturday March 24th and Sunday March 25th a large majority of you will be dancing your asses off to the sound of all things hard. While you may be
used to doing this across a single evening event, the tidy Weekender is of course three days and nights of the best music you could imagine.
The Head knows that this could leave some of you in severe states of fatigue come 6am each morning. At the School of Tidy we take your health and general well-being very seriously.
After reviewing the situation carefully the Head has taken the decision to have a fresh pint of milk delivered to your chalets each and every morning. This will be at no charge to students and is a goodwill gesture from the Head and of course the staff.

The school science department have been hard at work over the last few months genetically modifying the cows of Prestatyn to produce ‘super’ milk. Their souped up produce now contains all the vital ingredients and vitamins you could possibly need to keep you going over the entire Weekender.
