This summer, Cicada picked up rave plaudits for their debut album, ?Cicada?, everywhere from Mixmag to Music Week, to Record Collector and beyond, gave them glowing praise, highlighting the gap in the scene for an electro pop band with the song-writing to match their hooks. As winter beckons, fan favourite and next single, ?Cut Right Through?, looks set to continue the bands fine run into 2007.
References have been made to the likes of Blondie, Can, New Order, The Sugarcubes, The Cocteau Twins, Daft Punk and Quincy Jones. But Cicada, are a whole different proposition. Now a full live band, they?re coming to a venue near you very soon, see press for further details.

The original R&B version was a massive club hit for R&B superstar Tweet in 2002, ‘Boogie 2Nite’ became an unofficial Hed Kandi anthem at their nights across the country, but it never got the full attention it deserved. Now those sensible Kandi chaps have drafted in a host of remixers, to ensure that ‘Boogie2Nite’ takes up its rightful place at the top of the charts.
Seamus Haji & DB Boulevard provide the radio edits, lacing the glitterball vocals with an electro bassline so chunky you’ll have to take the door off its hinges just to get it in the house. DB Boulevard, who are probably best know for their massive hit ‘Point Of View’, inject a subtle but funky strut to the original, transforming it into a diva house anthem.
