Back in September we held our very first tidy Leeds spectacular to a rapturous response. THE TIDY BOYS, ROB TISSERA, LISA PIN-UP and more rocked one of the most decadent clubs we?ve ever had the privilege to take over. Now we?re back for more of the same. Brooklyn?s AeroCCCP Recordings is the home for the best in Russian new electronic and avant-garde music. After the overwhelming success of Messer Fur Frau Muller?s album ?Triangle, Dot & Devil? (see press quotes below), AeroCCCP is excited to present their newest release ? the self-titled debut from Siberia?s own Punk TV.
Punk TV defines its musical style as ?indie-tronica?? a mixture of air and movement with guitar riffs, solid rhythm, and occasional vocals. Their sound is soft, yet at the same time dynamic, with diffused chord structures and melodies of electronic romanticism. The band claims that it was a natural choice to write lyrics in English and not Russian. All band members grew up going to the same school in Novosibirsk. Together they studied advanced English and were influenced by the foreign music like American indie-rock, Brit-pop and electronica.

Bombay Dub Orchestra ? described by Billboard magazine as ?an absolutely dream-inducing brainwave? ? will be performing a unique set at the BBC Electric Proms in Camden on Saturday, 28 October 2006 as part of the BBC Asian Network night.
This is their first large-scale live UK appearance following completion of the album, Bombay Dub Orchestra, and the release of their ?Remixed EP? - featuring remixes by Thievery Corporation, Banco de Gaia, Pathaan, DJ Drez and Spider. Since its release on Aug 22nd the release has been in the top 5 of the UK iTunes World Music Chart with three weeks at #1.
The live set will include a number of special guests including Mumbai (Bombay) based Indian flautist Ashvin Srinivasan, Steve Bentley-Klein?s Inklein Quartet (the man behind Morcheeba?s classic string sound), tabla maestro Sirishkumar plus the two UK-based composers/producers behind the project.
The gig will also feature the world premiere of a piece which has been co-written with Niraj Chag ? composer of the first ever Asian musical, Baijw Bawru and will be performed with Niraj and Bombay Dub Orchestra.
