Following the inception of Viva in Ibiza last summer, the amazing turnout for Lawler?s Viva party at the Miami Winter Music Conference, and with his new online label Viva Music about to launch, we present Viva ? The Album.
Viva is spread over three discs, defining Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3 ? reflecting the sound of Lawler in 2006. With Day 3 a beautiful electronic mix of heartfelt minimal and leftfield sounds, this album is a departure from the straight club sets of previous compilation releases and reflects a deeper side to Lawler. Taking things one step further, Lawler has also meticulously re-edited many of the tracks especially for the album. Viva is a must hear album that will further cement Steve Lawler?s reputation as one of the world?s leading DJ?s. Lawler remains the definitive DJ and producer, with an acute ear for a tune and a technical ability that is second to none.
Steve Lawler will be taking Viva on the road on a 30 date world tour this summer, criss-crossing North America and Europe, with a substantial stop-off in the Balearics. In Ibiza, there will be six special Viva parties at Pacha, and Steve, of course, plays Space?s opening party on the 4th June.
Steve Lawler comments: “Lights Out was always planned to be a trilogy, so now it?s time for the next project. With Viva: The Album, I?ve called the CDs Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3 to reflect different states of mind, and how the music alters with that. That?s the case with my mind at the very least! It?s been a lot of fun doing this album. I feel an obligation to be constantly looking out for new music, new sounds and ideas and compiling music for a triple album has allowed me the freedom to put together some amazing music of different genres. Viva is about bringing new exciting music to people that they might not normally listen to or find. Viva is my passion.”

Galaxy is to get the low down direct from summer’s biggest party island - Ibiza - with a new correspondent.
Every week from this Saturday, June 17, Vicky Devine will be talking to Paul Kershaw with all the latest news. She’ll be reporting on the
biggest parties on the island and the stars who have been jetting in as well as the Ibiza anthem of the week that is rocking the island.
The new feature coincides with a new time for Paul Kershaw on Galaxy - Saturdays 11pm-1am.
Previous years have seen the likes of Jade Jagger, Kate Moss, P Diddy and Charlotte Church in Ibiza. 2006 promises to be as equally A-List.
Ibiza is also home to some of the worlds most famous clubs and biggest parties headed up by globally recognised DJs. We’ll be hearing from
Vicky direct and first on what’s what.
Vicky Devine is rapidly becoming known as one of the most talented female DJ/Producers within the current UK dance scene. She has completed
five successful seasons in Ibiza and has already reported on life on the island back to various radio stations in the UK.
Paul Kershaw says, “There is no one on this island better placed or connected than Vicky. If it’s happening on the island you can be sure
you’ll be hearing about it first on show on Galaxy.”
The Galaxy Network: Galaxy Manchester, Galaxy Birmingham, Galaxy
Yorkshire and Galaxy North East. Also listen on DAB Digital Radio, the
digital services of BSkyB, NTL and Telewest across the UK and online via

AVA Recordings, established in early 2006, will be dedicated to releasing quality electronic music.
The label, based in the United Kingdom, has been developed in a way whereby rigid guidelines will not be conformed to, ensuring true freedom with releases. Also, no influence will be placed on genre defining names, which have recently become so prominent.
The focus will be on ‘classy’ electronic dance music, with releases from some of today’s top names, alongside upcoming talents.
The initial release from the label (released on Monday, 17th July 2006), will feature a summer tune that will have everyone on the dance floor smiling, that being Joonas Hahmo’s track “The Fusion”.
“It would have been the obvious for the first release to come from a big artist, with big remixes, however, as we’re placing the focus solely on the music, Joonas’ track has been given the green light based on the merits of the tune”, states label co-owner, Andy Moor. “It’s a summer tune with a happy feeling, but future releases will vary from emotional dance tracks, to uplifting music with a ‘cool’ edge”, he continued.
Joonas Hahmo’s “The Fusion”, once released, will be available from all good vinyl stores, MP3 stores, and online via the AVA Recordings web site (www.avarecordings.com), of which constant online promotions will be available for members, including free and exclusive downloads, exclusive mixes from featured artists, remix packages, plus much more.
Future releases from the label include quality infused tracks from Andy Moor, David West, Orkidea, Steve May, among others.

James Talk grew up on a staple diet of rave and acid house, and from an early age was allured by the acid basslines pumping their way through the sky every weekend from nearby fields and warehouses into his bedroom. He soon realised that dance legends such as Prodigy and Underworld were of more interest to him than any Charles Dickens novel. This fascination in rave culture culminated in him buying his first set of decks at the tender age of 14, and his first gig at a youth club shortly followed. These early steps helped him to pave the way to the unique style and sound that he has today?
And roll on today, Southampton’s James Talk has come into his own in the past few years or so, with a series of singles on Nic Fanciulli’s Saved Records, recognition from some of the scene’s key movers and shakers, remixes for labels ranging from CR2 to Little Mountain, and collaborations with industry guru Pete Tong there just seems to be no stopping him.
Thinking Out Loud is a mish mash of tracks that have been on James? decks of late. It?s a pretty good idea of what to expect from a Talk set, with punchy acid basslines and beats and blips that wouldn?t be amiss at an early 90s warehouse party.
Be it through his production or DJing James Talk can always be found causing mayhem on the globe?s finest dancefloors with the very best in funky tech and acid house, and it takes no mastermind to realise that Talk is the name of the moment, and this mix illustrates that perfectly?

Ferry Corsten has always been a pioneer. Firmly parked at the forefront of an evolving dance scene, Ferry is once again heading off into pastures new, moving his sound forward, and reaffirming his status as one of the most exciting and prolific dance artists in the world ? and it?s not often you can say that about an artist who?s enjoyed a hit-filled career from his mid teens.
Ahead of his second album on Positiva, ?L.E.F?, (eg Loud. Electronic. Ferocious), and while he gears up to perform for hundreds of thousands of fans at the world?s biggest dance festivals, he?s ready to unleash his next single, ?Watch Out?.
Ferry?s continued to nurture his electro trance sound since his proto-classic, ?Punk?, released in 2002. Further hits such as ?Rock Your Body? (No. 11, UK chart) and 2004?s debut album, ?Right Of Way?, saw him scale new heights, musically and in terms of his career as both a producer and DJ. With the release of ?Fire? with Simon Le Bon, a single from the forthcoming album, we?ve seen him expand and develop a new direction still.
?Watch Out? is the next part of a canon that?s made him a unique prospect in the global dance scene. Tough synths, and retrofitted chords make this one of his best works to date. As with past releases, Ferry is back on vocals for a memorable hook that is the mainstay of this electro-trance bomb.
?Watch Out? comes in two original versions, (extended and dub), alongside remixes from Lee Coombs, with an acid-drenched breaks rerub (plus a dub), and a stunning electro remix from men-of-the-moment, Dirty South. Also included is Robbie Rivera?s previously unreleased remix of ?Fire?.
Ferry Corsten?s new album, ?L.E.F.?, is released on Positiva on 17 July

Get ready for a slice of trance extravaganza as genre pioneer Mike Koglin?s long-awaited debut artist album is finally here.
The Grammy nominated producer behind one of trance?s defining tracks, ?The Silence?, has spent the last two years putting together ?VS? - an extensive collection of collaborations with some of the world?s most incredible producers. In a recent review IDJ described it as a ?masterful and classy collection of tracks from one of the most affectionately regarded characters in trance. ”
Beautifully mixed by Mike Koglin himself as a continuous dj mix, the result is an exquisite compilation/artist hybrid album featuring 13 of his latest and as yet unreleased works incorporating the talents of Above & Beyond, Pulser, Mark Pledger, Lange, Darren Tate, Alex Morph, P.O.S and others, as well as selected remixes and productions.
What?s more, for the first time ever James Zabiela?s infamous and much sought-after mash-up of Sasha?s ?Wavy Gravy? and Koglin?s ?The Silence? will be available to the public. Known as ?Enjoy the Gravy? this bootleg has finally been granted clearance by BMG meaning the track which has erupted a thousand dance floors will be yours to take home.
As a package ?VS? takes you on a journey. From the deep progressive sounds of ?Deep Skies?, which is currently topping the DMC trance charts and is being championed by Tiesto and Judge Jules, to the chunky percussion-fuelled beats of ?Ultraviolet?, soon to be released on Anjunabeats, Mike?s trademark uplifting soundscapes also make an appearance in ?Sequential? and ?Point of Impact?, both of which have recently been charted by Paul Van Dyk who has touted Mike as ?currently on fire?.
The tracks on ?VS?, which have so far been released as singles, have already enjoyed considerable praise. Not only have they gained extensive radio support from the likes of Radio One?s Judge Jules, Dave Pearce and Jon ?O Bir, Paul Van Dyk on Radio Fitz, John Askew on Kiss 100, Above &Beyond on TATW and Armin Van Buurin on ASOT but magazine reviewers have also consistently given theses carefully crafted tracks top marks branding Mike as ?one of the most dominant figures in the trance music scene today.?
Perfectly encapsulating the production, remix, creative and DJing talents of one of dance music?s greatest treasures ?VS? is an essential purchase for any trance fan; and one well worth waiting for!
?VS? will be available to buy from end of July

In April, ?Ali B presents Air Live? began a new a chapter in the club?s history with the launch of Air?s first live session. The success of the event spoke for itself, with queues of around 300 people outside all night, and Cargo stating it was one of their biggest nights in recent memory, ultimately, it was an event to match any in Air?s highly successful 9 year history.
After a locked-out tent at HiFi South in May, we?re pleased to announce our return to London?s East End for the second party of 2006. Fresh from another arena at Global Gathering the day before, we?ll be hitting Cargo with the finest in British and international beats.
On the live tip, we welcome the outstanding Deekline & Wizard, if there?s one act from the breaks scene that?s going to reach supernova status in the next 12 months, it?s this crew. From underground gods to Top Of The Pops, they?re absolutely an outfit to keep your ears on. Joining them on stage will be Splitloop. We?ve also brought over Air artist, DJ Love ? Texas?s one-man hip hop and beats machine, for his first appearance since his much talked about set in 2005. Joining Love will be Air?s rising young star, Janette Slack, and your host and resident, Ali B.
You?re probably bored of this queue thing by now, but if the line at the last event was anything to go by, it?s best to get there for when the doors open - you?d hate to miss it.

A welcomed return for the much hyped Capracara just in time for summer 2006? wetting our appetites for future releases in 2006 we are not yet treated to more work from Jon Burnip?s acid vaults but in-turn treated to a stunning remix package from the master of all things Techno and Crunk: San Francisco?s Kit Clayton.
Whilst busy working on new material to add steam to the already legendary Capracara brand, Jon has enlisted the help of his old time friend and abstract techno pioneer to add a 2006 twist to 2005?s smash hit ?Opal Rush? that was widely credited in the dance press as taking the acid sound back into the main room.
Sounding like the Ying Yang Twins on?. well acid I guess?. Filthy, twisted, dark, maybe this is the product of Trent Reznor?s recent road trip to the durty south. Who knows?
